Amelia gave Jasper a brief rundown of the project.

He set down his spoon with a smile and said, “It’s like searching for a needle in the ocean. You won’t be able to reach any investors this way.”

Amelia knew that. She understood she couldn’t just call up investors on a whim. To get through, she’d need official appointments through the company. But she didn’t want to sit idle during her free time, and gathering a little more information couldn’t hurt.

“I read in the news that next month the province is hosting a conference for entrepreneurs,” she said. “They’ll mainly discuss plans for old and new industries, innovation strategies, and government support if the plans are viable. I want to attend, though getting a spot is nearly impossible.”

It was incredibly hard to get a spot for that. Even if someone were an outstanding entrepreneur, there was no guarantee they’d make it in.

Jasper smiled faintly. “That one? Yeah, forget it. Not gonna happen.”

The provincial conference was prestigious-only the most qualified entrepreneurs could get an invitation. They weren’t there yet.

“But I can help you with something else,” he continued. “The day after tomorrow, you can attend the Langley Group’s industry summit.”

Amelia blinked.

Langley Group was a heavyweight in the aerospace field, with deep influence throughout the industry. Their events drew professional entrepreneurs, scholars, experts, and government officials.

It wasn’t quite on the same level as the provincial conference, but within the industry, it was high-profile. The attendees were top-tier, influential players, and they were precisely the kind of investors she wanted to meet.

Jasper came from a wealthy family. Everyone called him a trust-fund kid, but he had built Nova Nine Technologies without relying on family money, turning it into the industry’s new rising star.

Amelia looked at him, unsure how to put her gratitude into words. After a long pause, she finally said earnestly, ” Thank you. You’ve done me a huge favor.”

“Enough talking,” Jasper said with a smile. “Let’s eat before you get all sappy. I’m about to get goosebumps.”

To prepare for the industry summit in two days, Amelia went shopping for suitable outfits. She needed to be fully ready.

Winona accompanied her, looping her arm through Amelia’s. “I loaded fifty thousand dollars on your card. Use it.”

Amelia looked at her hesitantly.

Winona made a quick, dismissive gesture. “Don’t even think about saying you don’t need it. Since you left the Zephyr family, you haven’t really had a steady income. Evie’s school fees are high, and her extra classes cost even more. I’m not going to watch you struggle.”

Amelia opened her mouth to respond, but Winona cut her off again.

“And don’t start with the thank-you speech. I don’t do sappy stuff. When you can, pay me back. If not, forget it.

Amelia raised an eyebrow, puzzled. “Who?”

Winona held up her phone, laughing mercilessly. “Nicole wanted to go to the Langley Group industry summit and tried to get an invite, but Jasper shut her down. Said she wasn’t qualified. Finally, some justice!”

This was a top-tier industry summit, and everyone in the field wanted in. Nicole certainly had the skill to attend, but she was kept from getting in. Anyone with eyes could see exactly why.

Winona smirked. “But Jasper said it’s up to you. If you’re upset, she stays out. If you’re feeling generous, you let her in. One word from you, and her fate’s sealed.”

Nicole’s face darkened after being rejected.

Langley Group’s industry summit was exclusive, and every professional wanted a spot. Even a fool could guess why she had been turned away.

Jasper was deliberately retaliating on Amelia’s behalf.

Nicole didn’t want to be on bad terms with him, but she hadn’t expected him to be completely wrapped around Amelia’s finger, utterly captivated by her beauty.
