Sierra enlarged the security camera footage as much as she could.

On the screen, a man in a perfectly tailored suit sat in the visitor chair, his whole posture calm and hard to read. From this angle, it was impossible to see the emotions in his eyes.

Sierra’s eyes, usually calm and blank, showed some surprise.

Dr. Smith noticed Sierra’s emotion. “You know him?”

Sierra shook her head. “No.”

She was only surprised because this man looked exactly like the one in the photo Holly had sent her earlier. Holly had even joked that the two of them looked alike.

Dr. Smith felt a little doubtful, but he didn’t ask more. This was the patient’s private family affairs.

“Dr. Smith.” Sierra sounded suddenly curious, like she had discovered something new. “If he comes again, can you tell me right away?”

“No problem,” Dr. Smith agreed without hesitation.

Sierra thanked him.

Dr. Smith didn’t stay any longer and left the room.

Sierra switched back and forth between the security camera footage and the photo from Holly, but she couldn’t see anything

definite.

In the end, she looked at her mother’s face and started talking to her in a low voice, regardless of whether she got an answer or

not.

“Mom, an old friend came to see you today. I don’t know who he is. I have never seen him, but he looks a little like me. Do you think he can be my uncle? They always say nieces look like their uncles, right?”

Sierra kept rambling like that to Anna for a long time. Only when she had twenty minutes left before she needed to be back did she tidy up and leave.

On the subway back to Origin Games, a thought came to Sierra.

She realized she knew very little about her mother’s past, but Jubilee had been her mother’s friend since they were young. If this man really was her uncle, Jubilee would know him.

That thought never left her mind, and Sierra decided to call later that evening.

Before she reached the office, her phone rang. It was a rare call from Eagon.

“Ms. Bell, I’ve thought it through. Eden really likes you, so I hope you’ll keep teaching her dance.”

Sierra’s grip on the phone loosened. “Thank you.”

“There’s no need to thank me. This is what I should have done,” Eagon said calmly. “Eden is eager to compete with her classmates, and she wants extra lessons. Can you tutor all day Saturday?”

“Practicing dance for a whole day might be too much for a child,” Sierra said, not recommending it.

“What about the weekend in general?” Eagon asked.

“I need to stay home with Tommy on weekends,” Sierra answered.

“You can bring Tommy over,” Eagon said.

Sierra stayed quiet. She wasn’t ready to agree to this.

Sierra answered with a quiet yes. By the time the call ended, she was almost back at the company.

Eagon looked at the phone after the call, then spoke to the man sitting beside him.

“I’ve told her.”

Solomon nodded. “Good.”

Sitting on the sofa, Eagon let out a slow sigh. “If you didn’t remind me, I would’ve almost fallen for his trick.”
