“Don’t you already know?” John said nonchalantly.

He rested one hand on the armrest, his dark eyes meeting Sierra’s without flinching. Neither of them backed down.

In the end, Sierra was the first to give up.

“You can give up on that idea right now.” Sierra hated his confidence and indifference. Why was she the only one whose emotions were affected? “Even if you’re not involved with Pamela anymore, I still won’t be with you.”

Not even the Henderson family’s house staff were this exhausted.

Of course she was tired.

She stayed up until two to three in the morning working on her illustrations, then she had to get up at six to make breakfast. Then, she went to work and had to come home to prepare dinner. After that, she had to wait until Tommy fell asleep, then work on her side jobs on top of countless tiny chores.

She had never been this tired in her life.

John saw how drained and tense she was. In the end, he couldn’t bear seeing the person he cared for in such a state. “Answer me, are you tired?”

“I am,” Sierra admitted, facing her life head–on. “But living… When is it not tiring?”

“You have a choice,” John said again.

He had never given this kind of indulgence to someone else, not even for Tommy.

Sierra looked at him. In that moment, every trace of expression seemed to fade from her face, leaving only clarity. “Go back and be your wife?”

Even though he knew she would refuse, he still answered, “Yes.”

However, she couldn’t accept his relationship with Pamela. She could never forget everything he had said and done during this period.
