Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 219

Randy took the dishwasher voucher and three hundred in cash before thanking Sierra and leaving

It wasn’t until after work that Sierra happened to overhear Randy on the phone and finally understood why he was making things so complicated.

Honey, I bought that dishwasher we looked at before. It was three hundred dollars cheaper than the one we saw online. I only spent twentyeight hundred on it!Randy said as he walked past with a phone in hand.

Sierra understood immediately.

She didn’t expect Randy, who had talked so big at the team building event, to be the kind of man who reported to his wife while secretly saving extra cash for himself.

She pretended she had heard nothing and headed for the subway, planning to pick up Tommy before going home.

To her surprise, Holly had already brought him home.

When they met up at the apartment, Sierra was still a little surprised. Didn’t Nicholas say you have been busy lately?

I finished everything,Holly answered without thinking.

Sierra put her purse down.

Holly leaned close to her, all mysterious. Do you know what I’ve been busy with?

Sierra shook her head.

A few days ago, my dad told me Pamela contacted him and asked for shares in Sanders Group, plus the entertainment company and a few other businesses that I’m managing,Holly said.

She hadn’t mentioned it before because she didn’t want her best friend to worry.

Pamela even said that if we refused, John would help her take them.

Sierra frowned. Why didn’t you tell me?

Telling you would only make you worry for nothing,Holly said bluntly. Besides, I’ve already taken care of part of it.

Sierra was curious. How did you do that?

I had someone look into Pamela’s past, and dug up a few things she has tried very hard to hide,Holly said slowly. I was planning to take that to her tomorrow and have a talk.

That might not work,Sierra said, speaking from what she knew. With the way John spoils her, he’ll do everything he can to cover up anything she doesn’t want exposed.

Funny thing is, this is something she has kept from John, too,Holly said, a smile touching her lips.

Sierra blinked.

What could Pamela possibly need to hide from John? She had already dropped all pretenses and was openly malicious, right?

The next day, at noon.

Sierra had just gotten off work and skipped lunch, heading straight for the hospital where Pamela was staying.

Holly had asked her to come along. One more person meant one more pair of observing eyes.

Pamela was not surprised to see them and greeted them with a polite smile. So, it’s my dear sister and Sierra. I did not expert you to have time to visit me.

I’m here to talk about who the entertainment company goes to,Holly said, not wasting a single word.

You can talk to John about that,Pamela replied, the ambition in her eyes clear. I’ve already given him full authority to handle it for me.

You really want me to talk to him?Holly asked.

Pamela still had no idea what was coming. Of course.

Alright.Holly agreed without hesitation. She stood up and looked down at Pamela, her tone very calm. Then I’ll tell him about you going to see the doctor as well. He doesn’t seem to know about that yet.

It was just a doctorPamela started, then stopped.

The smile and ease on her face vanished in an instant. She stared hard at Holly and Sierra.

What did that mean? Did they find out something?

What do you mean by that?she asked, sitting up in bed as the hand under the blanket slowly curled into fists.

Literally what it is,Holly said as she pulled a chair over and sat down again, a hint of provocation in her eyes. So, do you still want me to talk to John?

What do you want to talk about?Pamela demanded.
