Chapter 247
“We were only…” Agnes started.
She instinctively looked at Danny, hoping he could find words that made everything sound logical.
“You were only doing what you always do… Tormenting women and children who can’t fight back.” John’s voice sounded empty, like he felt nothing for them at all. “What truly satisfies you is the feeling of domination over them.”
Danny’s expression darkened immediately. “Enough! Watch your mouth!”
John didn’t even look at him as he walked toward Sierra.
Ignored in front of outsiders, Danny’s anger boiled over. He growled, “You can protect her today, but you can’t protect her forever!”
John stopped and then declared, “From now until the day I die, I won’t let anything like today happen again. Touch her again, and I’ll give Henderson Group to Solomon.”
“You…!” Danny froze for a moment.
He clearly hadn’t expected John to go that far. All for a woman, no less!
Was it worth wagering with the company?!
“Robin,” John said again with his gaze icy. “Do what my father just did to Sierra to him. If he dies, I’ll take responsibility.”
“Understood,” Robin said. He had always been the loyal sort.
Danny panicked. “You wouldn’t!”
Robin answered with his hands.
Robin grabbed Danny and shoved him into the pond. Then, he held Danny under the water until Danny’s body was locked. Danny could only swallow mouthful after mouthful of pond water uncontrollably.
Agnes couldn’t help but panic when she saw Danny thrashing in the pond. “John! No matter what happened, he’s still your father! How can you do this to him over a woman?”
“You should be grateful you’re not a participant and only stood there watching.” John’s voice was cold. “If you had joined in, you’d be under the water with him right now.”
Agnes’s heart skipped a beat.
She knew that John was truly furious this time.
“What are you all standing there for? Get in and pull him out!” She had no choice but to turn her attention to the bodyguards, frantic. “If anything happens to him, you can forget about coming back to work tomorrow!”
The bodyguards quickly jumped into the water.
John’s cold eyes swept over them. “If you don’t want to end up in court as his accomplices, don’t move.”
Every bodyguard froze.
They worked for the parents, but they also knew who had the real power in this family. It was with the two sons, especially the
younger one.
“How can you be this heartless?” Agnes’s voice shook. “He’s your father!”
“When you were torturing Sierra, did you remember she was my wife?” John asked, his eyes as cold as the Arctic winds.

Agnes was stunned.
At that moment, she finally understood that John had never given up on Sierra. Even after a month of fighting over the divorce, he had never stopped caring.
“If you won’t let anyone save him, then I will.” Agnes decided to gamble her life. “I’ll die in this pond if it comes down to it!”
She jumped into the pond as soon as she finished.
The bodyguards were all jolted in shock.
Lucy glanced at John, but his face held only a stillness that bordered on madness. Nothing else.
“Hold her back.” John finally spoke, just as icily. “Don’t let her drag Robin down with her.”
