Chapter 251
“I know Pamela bothers you, but I’ve already made things clear to her,” John said, trying to comfort Sierra.
He knew that Sierra and the promises he had made to her were things he could never give up in this life.
Sierra suddenly shoved him away. Her eyes were red, like a wounded animal being pushed to a corner.
“Whether you cleared things up with her or not is your own business, not mine,” Sierra said. She was someone observant, but she also held grudges. “All I know is that because of her, you made things difficult for me, embarrassed me, denied my worth, and insulted my dignity!”
“I’ll make it up to you however you want except divorce.” John wasn’t joking when he made that statement.
Sierra cut him off with four firm words. “I don’t need it.”
She only wanted one thing.
A divorce!
“Listen to me,” John said as he pulled her back in front of him, his voice and eyes unusually gentle.
Sierra yanked herself free again and took several steps back, widening the distance between them. Her eyes held no other emotions other than anger. “Why should I listen to you?!”
John pressed his lips and walked toward her.
Sierra pointed at the door, fury radiating from her. “Get out!”
“Let’s talk.” John kept trying to calm her down. “Alright?”
“You’re not the one who got hurt! Of course, you can choose to talk things over!” Sierra hated having her fate in someone else’s hands. It made her feel like a joke. “Either you walk out on your own, or I’ll call the police to come and get you out!”
Seeing her like this, John could tell she was truly furious and didn’t want to see him at all. He raised a hand and wanted to pat her hair, but when he saw the rejection and disgust in her eyes, he stopped.
“I’m going to be right next door. If you need anything, come find me.”
Sierra did not answer. Her chest felt tight from holding in her anger.
She did not want to see him.
She did not want to talk to him.
She did not want to stay anywhere he was!
On his way out, John glanced back at her and forced his emotions down. Even after he returned to the room next door, her intense reaction stayed on his mind. After thinking it over, he took out his phone and called Holly.
Sierra hated him, but she could not keep all that emotion bottled up.
Holly was stunned when she saw his name on the screen. “John?”
She picked up the call and checked the screen again. It really was John’s number.
If this had been before the whole thing with Pamela, a call like this would not have been strange, but he had been acting very differently lately.
“Is there a problem?” Holly asked when he didn’t answer.
“There is,” John said at last.

John told her the truth.
When she learned he had told Sierra he would not divorce her, Holly nearly lost it, too. Before hanging up, she snapped at him. ” Are you out of your mind?!”
Holly had seen everything Sierra had done all so she could get a divorce.
Now, John had wiped it all out with one sentence.
