Chapter 284
Eagon witnessed what was happening between Sierra and Eden
For once, his usually casual gaze softened with paternal warmth. 11 Sierra had not been Kha’s wide, if she had nothing to do with him, he truly would have kept her as Eden’s teacher permanently, even if she no longer tagja buce
When Sierra finished Eden’s lesson and prepared to leave, Vagym walked over and called her. “Ma. Pell
“Yes?” Sierra asked.
“I want to ask you something, if you don’t mind.” Eagon’s tone was calm, his eyes deep
Sierra’s tone did not tremble. “Go ahead.”
Eagon asked directly, “In all the years you have been married to John, have you ever met a woman with the last name Opfins about your age?”
Sierra replied, “No.”
“Can you help me find out where she is?” Eagon asked probingly, his eyes full of longing “She means a lot to me. I have never
been able to reach her.”
Solomon had found out she worked for John, but even so, Eagon could not contact her.
Sierra didn’t agree to it immediately and instead responded with a clear head. “If someone really wants to get in touch with another, they’ll find a way. Not to mention, your status is quite useful.”
Eagon was surprised by her answer. “But…”
Sierra cut him off almost at the same time, “I can’t help with this. I have something else going on, so I’ll be leaving now.”
“Take care, then.” Eagon did not try to stop her.
He had wanted to use her to invite Gabby out, but Sierra’s mind was too sharp for that.
“Have you ever thought about why you can’t contact Mom?” asked Eden, who had appeared without warning. Her tone was far older than her age. “Do you really understand what you did back then?”
Eagon had no words. His daughter was becoming more rebellious by the day.
Eden was not bothered by his stern look. “You won’t let Mom see me, so no wonder you can’t reach her.”
“You little rascal.” Eagon’s tone was still quite indulgent.
Eden snorted and turned away, not wanting to talk to him anymore. She made it clear she was upset.
After leaving the Lane residence, Sierra headed for the hospital, repeating her usual Saturday routine, though this weekend felt slightly different.
Close to the hospital, she received a call from Dr. Smith. “What is it, doctor?”
“The man who visited your mom last time is here again.” Dr. Smith updated her, glancing at the live footage of the man signing in. “How long until you arrive?”
Sierra checked her ride app. “Almost there, about ten minutes.”
“Alright.”
After the call ended, Sierra leaned toward the driver. “Can you drive a little faster? I’m in a bit of a hurry.”
She needed to ask who that man actually was. At first, she had thought he might be her mother’s brother. Nieces often resemble

their uncles, and she did look somewhat like him.
But Jubilee had said that man was an enemy.
So why would an enemy come to the hospital to visit her mother again and again?
The thought had barely formed when she suddenly paused. Her mind jumped to something else.
