Chapter 293
Leona froze as she read the certificate on the phone.
Robin put his phone away, his tone as steady as before as she asked, “Can I take her now?”
“But…” Leona hesitated, watching him with open suspicion. “If Sierra is Mr. Henderson’s wife, why didn’t he stand up for her at dinner and stop drinking?”
Robin lied without missing a beat. “She wants to work independently and keep some distance from the boss.”
There were questions in Leona’s eyes. It was clear she didn’t really buy it.
“If you don’t believe me, you can check her chat history with the boss,” Robin said. “You can unlock her phone with her fingerprint.”
After hearing everything, Leona had a hard time doubting him.
Before handing Sierra over, she called softly to the woman in her arms. “Sierra, Mr. Henderson wants to take you to his room. Do you want to go?”
“Yes…” Sierra still had a bit of awareness left.
She remembered John’s warning. If she refused, he would come down and knock on her door. She didn’t want anyone to know about their relationship since they were about to get divorced.
Since Sierra agreed, Leona didn’t insist on keeping her. Since she didn’t know what kind of person Robin was, she didn’t hand Sierra over and walk away. Instead, she went with them and helped bring Sierra to John’s room.
“Thank you,” John said. The words came from the heart. He could see how much Leona cared.
“She’s a little drunk, and she needs something for the hangover,” Leona said. “You can ask the front desk or have someone bring it up.”
John answered calmly. “Alright.”
He was quite patient when it came to this.
Leona opened her mouth, as if she wanted to say more. In the end, she chose to keep quiet and leave after she glanced at Sierra.
Robin watched her go. Only after she disappeared from sight did he say to John, “Leona treats her very well. She was on her guard with me the whole way up.”
“She’s the eldest daughter the Marshall family threw out when she was around five or six years old, right?” John asked. He had already read the files on everyone close to Sierra.
“Yes,” Robin answered.
“See what she needs and help her secretly,” John said.
“Understood,” Robin nodded.
John carried Sierra into the room, and Robin quietly closed the door behind them.
John had already prepared a glass of warm water inside. Ite set Sierra on the sofa and fed her with gentle care until she finished the whole glass.
He carried her to the bed, then gave her a quick wash–up and changed her into comfortable sleepwear as he had done in the past. For the next few hours, he sat in the armchair by the window, dealing with work, while Sterra slept deeply on the bed, She didn’t wake up until after eleven that night. The room was dark. She rubbed her heavy, spinning head and thought she was

in her own place. Guided by the glow of the city lights outside the window, she got out of bed and felt her way toward the
bathroom.
She had only taken a few steps when she noticed the pale light from a computer screen and the outline of a figure by the window. Looking more closely, she saw that it was John.
John stood up and switched on a soft lamp.
“You’re awake,” he said. Seeing that her eyes were still unfocused, he asked, “Do you still feel dizzy?”
Sierra nodded without thinking. She felt more than dizzy. The whole world felt like it was spinning.
She went to the bathroom first. When she came back out, her mind was still a blur. She then asked, “Why am I here?”
