Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 30

Sierra was so startled by his sudden move that, for a split second, she truly thought she might fall from the twenty–eighth floor.

Before she could react, he yanked her from the window ledge and tossed her back onto the bathroom floor.

She steadied herself, barely managing to keep from collapsing.

“If you really don’t want to, I won’t force you,” Kenneth said as he turned off the shower, a complicated look on his face as he kept up the act. “Why risk something so dangerous?” 1

“How do I know you won’t force me?” Sierra’s heart was still pounding. She shot a wary look at John. “You’re already capable of this much, so forcing me to sleep with him would be nothing.”

Kenneth was speechless.

“He glanced over at John. Surely, they could end the act now?

“If I really wanted him to do something to you, do you think you’d still be standing here unharmed?” John stepped toward her, his height exuding pressure. Sierra shrank back instinctively as she was starting to fear him.

And then, in a move no one expected, John scooped Sierra up and carried her back to the window. Before she could react, he dangled her halfway out.

“If you would rather be out here than in the room, you can keep enjoying the outside view,” he said coldly. 1

“John!” Kenneth was startled.

Sierra was petrified.

She had something to hold on to earlier. But now, the only thing keeping her from falling was John’s grip. If he let go, it would all be over.

Suddenly, Holly’s anxious voice called from the hallway. “Sierra! Where are you?”

“Holly, I’m here!” Sierra’s hope surged, and she called out, “Over here!”

She tried to wriggle free, but without a foothold, she was completely at John’s mercy.

Moments later, Holly rushed in and froze in terror at the sight of Sierra being suspended at the window on John’s arms. Even her voice was shaking. “John! What the hell are you doing?! Put her down now!”

John glanced at Holly, not quite sure how she ended up here.

“If you don’t put her down right now, I’m calling the police!” Holly threatened, holding up her phone.

Unbothered, John kept Sierra in place. “Go ahead and try. Let’s see if you can dial faster than I can drop her.”

Holly’s grip tightened on her phone, her glare sharp enough to kill. The tension was thick; neither was willing to back down.

“Alright.” Kenneth finally broke the deadlock as he really didn’t like the atmosphere. He offered Jolm a way out. “Scaring her is one thing, but if your son finds out you treated his mom like this, he’ll never forgive you ”

John still didn’t let go.

Kenneth finally grabbed Sierra from John and pulled her away, then he shoved her toward Holly to break the standoft.

“You alright?” Holly quickly checked Sierra for injuries.

“I’m fine,” Sierra replied, her heart rate finally beginning to calm down.

Only after confirming Sierra was truly alright did Holly relax, then she shot a biting glare at John. “Scumbag!”
