Chapter 316
Around eight in the morning, Sierra and John arrived at the airport.
Before they even boarded the private jet John had arranged for, Sierra’s phone buzzed with a message from Jenny.
[People at the company are talking about you and Mr. Henderson. Do you want me to take care of it for you?]
Her mood had been low, but it lifted a little when she saw that.
She glanced at John, glued to her side, and typed back a few words.
[It’s fine. But thanks for offering, Jenny.]
She knew that this was a move John had deliberately made. Even if Jenny managed to shut everyone up for now, once she went back to Origin Games, he would make no effort to hide their relationship. By then, everything she did would have been for nothing.
It was better to just let things be and let everyone say whatever they wanted.
“Are we making our relationship public?” John was tall. When he lowered his eyes, he could see her messages clearly.
“That’s your choice.” Sierra’s tone was distant and cool; none of yesterday’s anger or fire was left on the surface. “I have no right to control it and no way to.”
John knew she was only talking out of anger, but there was nothing he could say to put that anger out this time. All he could do was keep treating her well every day and let time slowly mend all the hurt and unhappiness within her.
They got back to Jade City and saw Tommy a little after eleven.
The moment he saw her, Tommy shot out and yelled, “Mom!”
Sierra caught him, and they wrapped each other up in a huge bear hug.
“Do you still feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Sierra looked him over from head to toe, truly afraid something might still be
wrong.
“No.” Tommy’s smile was sweet, and his big eyes were full of light. “After I talked to you last night, I was totally fine again! I’m your healthy little boy now!”
Sierra’s smile softened.
Tommy secretly glanced at his dad, who was carrying Sierra’s suitcase, then extended his small hand with great seriousness.” Uncle John, please give me Mom’s suitcase. I’ll carry it for her.”
John handed it over without the slightest hesitation.
Tommy took the suitcase with one hand and Sierra’s hand with the other, heading toward the gates of Campanile Estate. “Mom, let’s go home.”
Sierra froze a little. Those emotions she had suppressed started to bubble up again.
“This is your mom’s home. Where are you planning to take her?” John spoke slowly with his eyes on Tommy.
Tommy blinked as he looked up at Sierra. When Sierra didn’t speak against John, he started to put the pieces together.
“Give me the suitcase.” John usually handled Sierra’s things himself.
However, Tommy hid the suitcase behind his back.
John raised his eyebrow. This brat…

“You still haven’t handled things with that other woman. Mommy isn’t moving bark here,” Tommy said, looking at him wind some doubt in his eyes, standing firmly on his mom’s side.
John’s voice stayed steady. “Ask her, then.”
