Sierra turned to look at her.
Holly kept talking with her eyes still fixed on the road. She didn’t forget to finish her sentence by asking Sierra for her opinion.
“I’m asking if you can accept that price.”
“You’re that said private collector, aren’t you?” Sierra exposed her without hesitation, her chest warming.
Holly didn’t even flinch. “What do you mean?”
Sierra refused to drag her down into her problems. “John already told me that as long as he refuses to give way, no one will buy this ring. The only person who’s willing to cross him for me is you.”
“Don’t be absurd.” Holly denied it. “The others may be scared to cross him, but his enemies won’t think twice.”
The words had barely landed when her phone began buzzing. Message after message arrived, each one stating that her cards had been frozen.
Then came one final text from someone she saved as “old man“.
[I ordered your cards frozen. John just sent word that no one is allowed to interfere with Sierra, including you. Otherwise, the Sanders Group will pay a price it won’t be able to bear. If you need anything during this time, tell me and I’ll handle it.]
Holly blinked.
Sierra remained silent.
Holly pulled into a parking space and struggled one last time. “If I tell you this is my dad playing a prank, will you believe it?”
“I believe it…” Sierra answered, then added a few words at the end. “Not really.”
Holly’s composure almost broke.
She no longer cared that Sierra had seen through her lie. She grabbed her phone and was going to call her father.
If her cards were frozen, how was she supposed to transfer a million to her best friend?
Sierra reached over and ended the call.
“Why?” Holly looked at her, confused.
“You have already done enough.” Sierra understood clearly from those messages that John intended to force her to stand alone. “I’ll deal with the rest.”
“How are you going to do that? He’s cutting you off completely so that once you find yourself with nowhere else to go, you’ll have no choice but to return to his side,” Holly said; she had already seen through everything. “Can’t you tell he’s doing this deliberately?”
Of course Sierra could tell it.
In the beginning, when he stopped her from finding work, she simply believed he was still angry that she rejected his conditions during the divorce. That he was doing this because she wounded his pride in retaliation.
But when her mother collapsed and he trapped her in his arins, saying those words and doing those things, everything became clear.
Not to mention… What had just happened made everything clear to her.
“It’s exactly because I can see.it clearly that you can’t get involved in this,” Sierra said, pretending to take it lightly. “You’re my last support pillar. You can’t burn yourself out when everything has just started.”

Holly wanted to say no one could break her, but when she remembered how a single sentence from John got all her cards frozen, she couldn’t really say anything else to counter that notion.
She knew very well that if John became serious, her entertainment company would not last three days, and the Sanders Group would be crushed before it could resist.
That man’s influence spread through every domain. He could do anything with just a thought.
“From now onward, we’ll do it how we always have. We’ll chat a bit and keep me company, and nothing else.” Sierra knew his methods very well, so she decided to face him alone. “Well, you can help me pick Tommy up when I’m busy, but stay out of everything else, alright?”
