Chapter 338
Sierra walked quickly toward the master bedroom.
The sheets had already been changed several times by Mrs. Brown, and she had no idea whether that document had been thrown away or was now in John’s possession.
When she went in, Mrs. Brown was in the middle of changing the bed sheet. As soon as she saw Sierra, she handed her a stack of papers in a folder.
“Ms. Bell, Mr. Henderson left this under the pillow for several days. I don’t know if he forgot it or something else, but I didn’t dare ask.”
Sierra took it.
It was exactly the grant deeds her mom had left her.
“I put them there earlier,” Sierra admitted. It seemed John had never looked under the pillow.
Every time Mrs. Brown changed the bedding, she put everything back where it had been, so no one had noticed it until now.
“That’s good, then,” Mrs. Brown said.
Sierra put the document away. “Thank you.”
“Mada…Ms. Bell.” Mrs. Brown caught herself and corrected the form of address. She kept messing up her words because she was so used to saying it a certain way for so long.
Sierra paused.
She noticed the change in how they addressed her and realized this was something John had asked them to do.
“Strictly speaking, a servant like me shouldn’t be meddling in things between you and Mr. Henderson,” Mrs. Brown started.
The woman was in her forties or fifties. She hesitated, a mixed expression on her face.
“But all of us have seen how you two are together. We all hope the two of you can grow old side by side from the bottom of our
hearts.”
Sierra didn’t explain much. “I know.”
Mrs. Brown opened her mouth again, but in the end, did not say anything more. She finished changing the sheets and pillow covers, then left with the used bedding in her arms.
Sierra slipped the document into her suitcase.
Just as she was about to find something to do, she suddenly realized that the only thing on her mind was making money. She couldn’t bring herself to care about anything else.
She used to love arranging flowers and decorating the house, always finding ways to make some tiny detail different every day.
Now, she had no interest in any of that.
With that thought in mind, she got up and went to the study. Her art supplies had been moved there. Work was the only thing she could do since she hadn’t much interest in everything else.
She had just opened her design software on the computer and hadn’t even created a new layer when Grant came upstairs.
“Ms. Bell, there’s a guest at the door. Would you like to let them in?”
“Who?” Sierra asked.

Grant said quickly, “Pamela Sanders.”
“It’s none of my business, then. Go ask John,” Sierra said.
“He has already said that everything at Campanile Estate is under your control,” Grant replied, his manner extremely respectful. There was a hint of gentle guidance in his tone. “The priority of his opinion…comes after yours.”
Sierra laughed inside, but what she said was simple, “Then tell her to get lost.”
“Understood,” Grant answered at once.
Sierra blinked. Why did it feel like he had been waiting for her to say exactly that?
A moment later, Pamela’s sharp voice rang out from outside.
“What right do you have to stop me from going in? John said I can come here whenever I want! You have no right to keep me out!
