Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 346

Chapter 346

Sierra paused.

Thinking back over everything, she realized Holly was right.

He knew her personality and knew she would never accept being treated this way. John had used that night at the bar as an excuse to send those men to her. It was just as Holly said; he was sure she would refuse them, hence why he was acting this

daringly.

Does it even matter if I like them?Sierra lowered the phone a little and shifted her angle. If they bother you, you can still send them away with one word.

As long as you like them, you can keep them as long as you want,John said. He hadn’t heard a single word Holly said as Sierra had kept the volume low the whole time.

Alright,Sierra answered.

John hesitated for a moment.

I hope you keep your word,Sierra added.

In the days that followed, Sierra spent time with Tommy after work and then went upstairs to talk and hang out with the bodyguards John had hired for her.

Robin was the first to crack within a few days, long before John did.

Sir, Sierra seems to get along well with them,Robin said, worried. If this keeps going, your position might really be in danger.

John stood at the window, looking toward the attic at Campanile Estate. His gaze was deep, his lips pressed, and yet he said nothing.

He knew Sierra. She wouldn’t actually get too close with any of those young men. Most likely, she was simply putting on a show for him. Even so, watching her laugh and smile with that group while she stayed cold and distant with him pressed a heavy weight on his chest.

People change,Robin said. Just because she didn’t like something in the past doesn’t mean she won’t like it now. If this keeps up, you really can’t rule out the possibility she might fall for one of those younger men.

John looked up toward the attic again. He could see Sierra smiling as the young men joked around her through the tall glass.

In truth, Sierra actually was enjoying herself.

Originally, she just wanted to expose John and ruin his whole act. She didn’t expect these young men to actually be fun.

Once they learned she wasn’t some rich woman paying to keep them around, and that she had only hired them as bodyguards, they relaxed and started sharing their stories.

That’s nothing. My roommates tried to squeeze money out of me. While I was sleeping, they shoved three spoonfuls of risotto into my mouth. I almost choked to death.

My roommates gave me the cold shoulder. Only after my girlfriend dumped me and I was single like them again did they finally stop.

My roommate gave me the cold shoulder, too. He wouldn’t even let me sleep in the same bed.

The others stared at him.

Sierra stared at him, too.

For a moment, everyone took an instinctive step away from that guy.

A grown man wanting to sleep plastered against another grown man had to be either a total weirdo or someone who liked men.

Don’t look at me like that, the guy went on. If I really had my eye on any of you, do you think you could get away? Is anyone here actually a match for me?

That one line set everyone off.

The other nine jumped him at once and gave him a proper beating.

Seeing them fooling around and making jokes, Sierra briefly remembered her own days in school.

Back then, before she met John, her life had been light and carefree. Even after the Bell Group went under and some people started mocking her and watching from the sidelines, life had only become a little harder.

Unlike now

Good evening, Mr. Henderson.

The bodyguards suddenly spoke in unison, snapping Sierra out of her thoughts.
