Sierra stayed silent the whole way. She was unmoved by everything John did, her whole demeanor like a marionette without feelings.
When Sierra went to the restroom, Robin immediately leaned over. “Sir?”
John looked at him.
“Ms. Bell’s bodyguards are all in place,” Robin reported. “They’re good–looking, charismatic, and they can fight too. Do you want them to start today or in a couple of days?”
It was hard enough to find all those qualities in one person, let alone several. It had taken quite a while to gather all of them.
John paused, then answered without much thought. “Have them wait at Campanile’Estate. When we get home, they can stay if Sierra is satisfied. If she’s not, pay them and either let them go or keep them as part of the security team in the company.”
Robin hesitated.
“Anything else?” John’s tone was lazy.
“Aren’t you worried about your own position being threatened?” Robin spoke genuinely. “They’re really good–looking and very charming. After their interviews with HR, they were practically excited when they came out to talk to me.”
“That just means they haven’t seen the world yet,” John said calmly.
Robin blinked. “What?”
John looked at him. “Would you get excited seeing them?”
The corner of Robin’s mouth twitched.

He felt that, as a grown man, getting excited over a bunch of handsome men was probably not very normal.
John didn’t continue the conversation. When he saw that Sierra still hadn’t come back after a while, he started to worry. He was about to get up when she returned and sat back down across from him.
They had dinner in heavy silence.
Aside from John occasionally asking if the food suited her taste, all that came from Sierra were short replies like “Yeah,” “It’s fine,” and “It’s alright.”
On the way back, John spoke first, his tone still casual and even.
“There’s a surprise waiting for you at home. I think you’ll like it.”
Sierra ignored him, completely uninterested. At least, until she saw the garden at Campanile Estate.
Lined up in a neat row was a group of young men, all around twenty years old and very good looking. Her brow twitched.
When they saw her coming, the bodyguards spoke in unison. “Hello, Ms. Bell!”
“Last time, you said you liked younger guys who are handsome and know how to talk,” John explained unhurriedly at her side.” So I had Robin hire ten of them. From now on, they’re your personal bodyguards.”
Sierra stared at him in disbelief. She honestly wanted to ask if he had gone crazy.
“If you’re happy here, I’ll go along with whatever you want,” John said.
“You’re crazy.” Sierra threw the words at him and walked straight through the doorway

Robin looked at the young, energetic bodyguards, then to his boss, who was as calm as ever. “So… Should they stay, or should they go?”
“We’ll talk after she gives an answer. Let them wait over there for now,” John said, then turned and headed upstairs into the
villa.
Sierra was furious.
Just then, Holly called to ask how things had been the last couple of days. Sierra simply answered, “Fine.”
As her best friend, Holly was quick to catch something that was off in her tone. “You don’t sound very happy.”
“It’s nothing, I’m just tired from a full day at work,” Sierra said.
She didn’t want Holly getting upset on her behalf. Holly’s moods had been swinging more than before lately because of her.
Holly was about to ask more when the bedroom door opened.
John stepped in and walked toward Sierra, who was standing by the window with her phone in hand.
“You didn’t like those young men just now?” he asked. “Are they not good–looking enough, or are you worried they couldn’t speak properly?”
Sierra turned around, still holding the phone to her ear.
Before she could speak, Holly’s curious voice came through the receiver. “Good–looking young men who couldn’t speak properly? What young men?”
“You said I ruined your fun at the club that night,” John said as he stopped in front of Sierra, his emotions unusually calm. “To make it up to you, I had Robin find those young men for you. If you don’t like them, I’ll swap them out for someone else.”
Only a fool would like that, Sierra thought.
She almost blurted out those words when Holly’s excited voice burst out in her ear. “You like them, of course! You like them! Keep them!”
Sierra fell silent.
Holly kept going. “He’s only this daring because he’s sure you won’t keep them. If you let them stay, we’ll see if he can really follow through on everything he said. He’s using your personality against you to keep you under his control!”
