Kenneth froze for a moment at the revelation.

He was completely dumbstruck. He stood there in such a daze that he could literally hear his head buzzing.

“You’re sure Sierra is the one who saved John’s life?!”

“Of course.” Nicholas shoved Kenneth out of the door and shut it behind himself. “Pamela’s scar was copied from Sierra’s down to the last detail, so unless that scar had nothing to do with the person who saved John…”

Sierra had already confirmed that with Pamela that morning.

There was almost no doubt about it now.

If Sierra really was the one who saved John, that would be a disaster…!

The moment the thought hit him, he bought a ticket for the same flight as Nicholas to Harbor City. He had to tell John about it. Otherwise, John’s mood would probably get even worse if Nicholas went over there and started kicking up a storm.

Meanwhile, Sierra and Pamela were sitting in a bar that was nearly empty.

Sierra and Holly had planned to go out for a while to clear their heads, then head to the hotel for the party when it was time. The moment Sierra stepped outside, however, Pamela called and asked her to come to the bar, insisting she come in alone.

“What did you call me here for?” Sierra asked bluntly.

“I really didn’t expect you to be so imaginative.” Pamela still refused to admit anything. “But you were wrong about that this morning. You weren’t the one who saved John.”

Sierra’s expression did not change. “And?”

Pamela spoke as though it were the truth. “Since you’re so unwilling to cooperate, our deal is off. You can forget about ever finding out who she is for the rest of your life.”

“You used the scar on your leg to find John, didn’t you?” Sierra said, using her calmest voice.

Pamela’s expression froze.

Sierra really did know.

“Dr. Yates woke up.” Sierra didn’t pull her punches and told Pamela how she found out. “He told us everything about you went to him.”

“Impossible!” Pamela snapped, instinctively unwilling to believe it.

“You’ll know whether it’s impossible once you text him.” Sierra stood up, no longer interested in talking to her. “Judging by the time, John should know about this by now too.”

Pamela narrowed her eyes.

Sierra looked at her. “What do you think he’ll do to someone who lied?”

“Wait.” Pamela stopped her, trying to use something as a bargaining chip for her own safety. “Don’t you want to know how ! fooled John?”

“No,” Sierra said lightly.

Now that she thought it through, what Pamela had done hadn’t been flawless.

The only people who knew about this were her parents and Holly. Pamela’s only chance to find out was probably when she eavesdropped on a phone call between Sierra and Holly back in university.

One weekend, Sierra had gone back to the dorm when no one else was there. Holly had been in the mood to write a script and asked her about that specific childhood story, so Sierra gave her the general outline of what happened.

Thinking back on it now, Pamela was probably in the dorm that day.

Sierra had never told anyone the details of that incident anywhere else other than that time, after all.

“There was no way I could’ve fooled John on my own,” Pamela went on, still trying to find something to negotiate with Sierra. Don’t you want to know who told me the person you saved was him?”
