“I don’t want to make things more difficult for you either,” Pamela said to Sierra. She gritted her teeth, standing between her two bodyguards. “But you just had to find out everything and put it right in front of John.”
“What do you want to do?” Sierra asked, her expression unchanged.
The calmer Sierra was, the angrier Pamela became.
Her mood grew even more extreme. “Do you know that I hate the way you act the most right now?”
Sierra thought Pamela had a screw loose in her head. A very big screw.
“You’re already in no position to protect yourself, and you’re still acting like some calm woman.” Pamela raised her voice. “Did you forget how pathetic you were in the equipment room back then?”
Sierra’s expression didn’t change at all; she looked at Pamela as if she were watching a fool.
Pamela was completely enraged. What she could not stand most was that look. Sierra had been born rich, loved by everyone, and favored by John, while she herself could only live in the dark!
Why?!
“Tie her up,” Pamela ordered the men. “Lock her in the storage room in the back.”
“You’re breaking the law,” Sierra reminded her.
“My life is basically over anyway, so what do I care about breaking the law?” Pamela gave Sierra a cold laugh, her mind already gone. “Either you call John and make him promise he’ll never hold me responsible for anything and will protect me for life, or I let these four men ruin you!”
Sierra was calm.
That was because her bodyguard, Marcus, had quietly followed her inside.
“Your choice.” Pamela had completely lost her mind.
Sierra ignored her, about to leave. When the two men blocked her path, she looked at the corner.
“Marcus, if you still don’t make a move, I’ll call the police myself. This won’t count toward your performance.”
“That won’t do,” Marcus said as he stepped out at once, his face serious. “I prefer this to be part of my
evaluation.”
Pamela frowned.
Where did this man come from? She had clearly paid the bar owner and told him not to let anyone in except Sierra!

“Can you
handle them?” Sierra glanced at Marcus’s rather lean build and felt a little worried. “If not, we’ll
call the police.”
“You’re underestimating me.” Marcus’s usually expressionless face showed a rare bit of seriousness.” Four is nothing. I can handle even ten easily.”
Sierra wasn’t sure what to say. When a serious man joked, he bragged even more than the rest.
Marcus took off his suit jacket and placed it in Sierra’s hands. His tone was still perfectly polite. “Please hold this for me. Don’t let it get dusty. It is quite expensive.”
Sierra wasn’t sure what to say.
The four men were speechless.
Pamela was speechless, too.
Pamela finally snapped out of it; she couldn’t understand why she had just stood there watching him chat with Sierra. “What are you doing? Am I invisible here…”
Bang!
Before she could finish, Marcus had already kicked one of the men to the ground.
The other three reacted and swung at him, but Marcus caught one man’s wrist. With a hard twist, he slammed the man onto a table with a throw.
Crash!
The table flipped over.
Sierra tightened her grip on the jacket without thinking.
This bodyguard… Wasn’t he a little too strong?
“Wait,” the other two who had not been hit shouted at once. “We’re done! We’re not fighting anymore!”
“I paid you!” Pamela panicked. If she let Sierra go, she would have nothing left to bargain with. “How can you be so irresponsible?!”
“When you paid us, you only said you wanted us to tie up a woman.” The man could read the situation clearly. He glanced at his two companions lying on the ground who were howling in pain. “You didn’t say anything about risking our lives.”
