As Pamela watched Sierra simply walk away, she finally let out a scream. Her emotions had reached her limit.

She swept all the glasses off the table and onto the floor, her face twisted with madness.

Sierra heard the noise, but didn’t bother with it. She handed Marcus’s suit jacket back to him and got into the car.

“How did it go?” Holly asked once Sierra got in.

“Just like we guessed,” Sierra said. “She’s cornered and chose to do something drastic.”

“Then why didn’t you call me?” Holly asked.

Sierra glanced at Marcus in the driver’s seat. “Marcus handled it.”

“How many?” Holly asked.

“Four,” Sierra said.

Holly was stunned.

“Your bodyguard is really quite something,” Holly said, a little surprised. “He’s good–looking and he can fight. Where did you find him? I want to hire a few too.”

“The impressive part is the person, not the company,” Marcus said seriously as he drove. “Don’t get

fooled.”

Sierra fell silent.

Holly was speechless, too.

After that brief mess, Sierra thought about Pamela’s state of mind and called Anna, telling her to be extra careful that day in case Pamela went looking for her at home for revenge.

“Miss,” Marcus said at just the right moment, his tone calm. “Even though the other person isn’t as good- looking as I am, nor are his skills and brains as good as mine, you can still rest easy leaving your son

and mother in his care.”

Sierra looked at him.

Marcus went on. “He’s the kind of person that doesn’t speak much but can break bones easily.”

“Then why did you tell me to fire him before?” Sierra remembered that after the interview, she had wanted to keep both of them, but Marcus had done everything he could to recommend himself.

“I didn’t know then that you needed a personal bodyguard,” Marcus replied, completely serious. “If it’s

just home security, I’m worth ten of him.”

Sierra chose not to respond.

Marcus was excellent in every way. He was just a little too confident, but it never came off as showing off. It felt more like a joke.

Five o’clock.

Sierra and Holly headed to the hotel where the party was being held.

The hotel sat on top of a hill, surrounded by a wide stretch of lawn. Because of the party, it had been decorated lavishly.

Just as Sierra and Holly were about to arrive, many top–of–the–line Rolls–Royce suddenly pulled in ahead of them, followed by several limited–edition Maybach.

“This is the first time I’ve ever been in a spot this awkward,” Holly said, glancing around as she gossiped with Sierra. “If we had enemies here, I would think these two groups were doing it on purpose.”

The two convoys of luxury cars boxed their Bentley in from both sides. It was really…strange.

“They’re doing it on purpose,” Marcus said.

“How can you tell?” Sierra asked.
