Chapter 460
Nathan wouldn’t have known his precious daughter was being treated so badly if someone hadn’t reported this to him.
“Nathan?”
“Mr. Lynch…”
The group that had been so haughty a moment ago backed down at once.
Nathan shot them a cold look, then walked to Sierra. One could not miss the concern in his eyes. “What did they say to you? Let Dad handle this for you.”
“Dad…?” Sierra repeated the word, just like how Anna had back then, and Nathan rarely felt this uneasy.
His icy gaze slowly scanned Mr. Wilson and the others, one by one.
Winning back his wife and daughter was hard enough already, but these people had to make it even harder.
“You’ve always been focusing on self–preservation. Calling you Dad just doesn’t feel right, what more acknowledging you as one,” Sierra said.
She had already had some strong opinions regarding Nathan. After hearing what those people said, her negative opinions about him had simply gotten stronger.
Nathan turned to Hera. “What happened?”
Hera glanced at Sierra, then answered, “They said Anna caused the break–up between you and your fiancee, and that she got pregnant with your child to climb the social ladder. They said she used you to fight for shares in the King family…”
Nathan’s face darkened after every sentence Hera told him. He hadn’t expected them to slander Anna like this behind her back.
“We were only repeating rumors! We didn’t just make things up!”
“That’s right!”
“We hope you’re not too upset with us!”
Mr. Wilson and the others were all cunning veterans. The moment they saw Nathan standing in front of Sierra, they had already changed their tune.
That didn’t stop Nathan’s eyes from turning cold. “In a few days, I’ll also publicly talk about the tax problems all of you have. When people start looking into it and find something, I hope you won’t be too upset with me too.”
“Mr. Lynch, we really didn’t mean it!”
“We’ll apologize to your daughter. Please don’t say anything about it!”
Almost none of them could survive a proper investigation. If word got out and someone came knocking, to say they would be in trouble would be an understatement.
Nathan could not even be bothered to look at them. “Get out!”
They still wanted to argue their case. “Mr. Lynch…”
Nathan gave them one look, and the rest of them found themselves choked with their own words in fear. They left, one after
another.
“If this happens again, call me directly and I’ll handle it,” Nathan said. He held back his temper, his voice soft when he spoke to Sierra. “There’s no need to waste words on people like that.”
Sierra did not look at him as he dragged Hera and Holly with her. “Let’s go.”

How come he got off so easily, while her mom had to take all the blame intend
“Mr. Lynch, please try to remember every word Sierra says when you have a chut later.” Holly worked up the nerve to say to Nathan before giving them space. “I mean, really think abo
Nathan’s tone stayed calm. “I will”
Holly patted Sierra on the shoulder, then left with her mother for the time being
Now that only the two of them were left, Nathan glanced at the people passing by before making a suggestion
“There’s a meeting room on the second floor. Why don’t we go upstairs and talk?”
Sierra went with him. There were some things she needed to clear up with him.
Inside the meeting room, a waiter brought a glass of fruit juice and some snacks before setting them in front of Sierra.
