Chapter 490
No one wanted to be the one to bring up the conversation.
Well, no one except Forde.
He walked straight up to John as if he had no idea what pressure was. “You should eat, Boss.”
John acted like he hadn’t heard Forde. His mind was still full of the cold look Sierra had given him.
“Forde said you were feeling sick after meals earlier, and you vomited everything you ate.” Robin put it as tactfully as he could. “Is that true?”
John raised his eyes slightly.
Forde’s eyes widened as he looked at John in disbelief. “It wasn’t me.”
Robin sold Forde out without hesitation. “If it wasn’t for you, then how would we know about it?”
Lance nodded. “That’s right.”
Dr. Smith nodded too. “Indeed.”
“You were the ones who told me to tell Ms. Bell, and Ms. Bell was the one who told you,” Forde said, defending himself at once. He clearly didn’t want John to think he could not keep a secret. “It had nothing to do with me.”
Something in John’s eyes shifted.
Robin spoke up at just the right moment. “Sir, you should eat at least a little for your health’s sake. Your stomach is quite important.”
When John still said nothing, Robin kept going.
“If you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes. Lance, get the car ready.” Robin’s mind worked fast. “I’ll book a table at a restaurant.”
“Okay.” Lance moved right away.
Half an hour later, they ended up at the same restaurant where Sierra and Marcus were eating.
The moment Marcus saw them walk in, he gave them away without the slightest politeness. “Miss, they definitely followed you here.”
Sierra stayed calm. “Ignore them.”
“Of course.”
Before John’s food even arrived, Sierra and Marcus had already finished eating and left. Other than seeing her, John didn’t get to say a single word to her.
Robin was about to crack. If he hadn’t wasted so much time tracking down where Sierra was eating,

John might have had a little more time near her.
“Boss, l…”

“From now on, don’t deliberately book the same restaurant as Sierra,” John said, forcing down the emotions that were beyond his control. “I promised her that other than the divorce, I wouldn’t appear in her line of sight.‘
“But your social circle is only that large,” Robin said, feeling Sierra was making things too difficult for John intentionally. “You’ll run into each other at some business dinner sooner or later.”
Henderson Group’s main base was in Jade City, but it still had ties to Harbor City. Avoiding her completely would be almost impossible, especially once Sierra started getting involved with the Kings and the Lynches.
“Then I won’t go,” John said.
Robin looked like he wanted to say more, but all he could do in the end was agree. “Understood.”
John didn’t eat much. He only forced down a few bites before setting his utensils aside.
Robin wanted to persuade John to eat more, but the moment he saw the silence on John’s face, he stayed quiet too.
At two that afternoon, Sierra and John arrived outside the Clerk’s Office at the same time. With their documents in hand, they walked inside together.
