Chapter 492
Robin replied to Kenneth’s message: [Everything’s normal.]
[Normal–normal, or fake normal?] Kenneth still could not stop worrying about John.
Robin pressed his lips. After thinking it over, he finally gave Kenneth a way out. [Fake normal.]
Those two words got him a whole string of messages from Kenneth. After another moment of thought, Robin decided not to reply.
Kenneth: [???]
It was one thing for John to ignore his messages, but why was Robin doing it too?!
By the time Sierra got back to Harbor City, it was already past six in the evening. As soon as she went through the doorway, she told Nicholas and Holly in their group chat about the divorce and even sent a photo of the divorce certificate.
A moment later, the group chat was flooded with celebratory emojis and stickers from the two.
“You have no idea what this past month has been like for me,” Holly said in a voice message after celebrating. “I was so scared something would go wrong again during the waiting period!”
Nicholas replied: [Same here.]
Holly’s voice message continued, “Good thing everything went smoothly. I’m free now. Want to come out and celebrate?”
Sierra replied: [Sure.]
After putting away the divorce certificate, Sierra headed out.
The three of them met at a restaurant for dinner.
Before the food arrived, Holly and Nicholas chatted about random things. It was only after everyone’s orders were on the table that Holly finally asked, “John really isn’t going to come looking for you again after this?”
“He won’t unless there are things related to Tommy,” Sierra said.
“What are you planning to do next?” Holly asked, though she still felt a little uneasy.
She simply felt that John would not let things end that easily, what with that personality of his. After everything that had happened, he had used every method he could think of to keep Sierra by his side. It seemed odd that everything would end over a single promise.
Sierra already had a plan, however. “First things first, I’ll pass the King family’s test and get my mom’s shares.”
“Good. Put your career first.” Holly supported every decision she made. “When the time comes, just call us if you need help. We’ll be there whenever you need us.”
Nicholas chimed in right away. “Exactly.”
Sierra smiled. “Alright.”
By the time they left, it was already past eight that night.

After dropping Sierra off at home, Holly turned to Nicholas, who was in the passenger seat.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you want to go after Sierra, make the most of these next few months. Once John snaps out of it, you won’t have a chance.”
Nicholas looked confused. “Didn’t he promise Sierra that he wouldn’t bother her again other than matters involving Tommy?”
“You think a man’s promises are worth anything?” Holly did not believe a word of it. “Right now, he’s still trapped by that promise and hasn’t broken free of it yet. Once he realizes losing Sierra is harder to bear than anything else, do you really think he’ll keep it like some obedient little boy?”
No, he wouldn’t.
The answer came to Nicholas almost instantly.
Holly looked at him and said, “If John starts chasing someone, there won’t be any room for you.”
Nicholas fell silent immediately.
He had only been busy for a while back then and had not contacted Sierra. Before he knew it, he heard she was already with John.
It was completely out of the blue for him.
“If I confess to Sierra, do you think I’ll ruin our friendship?”
He had kept his feelings buried all this time because he had seen too many people confess to Sierra and get rejected.
One second, they were still friends. Next, they were strangers after a confession. Whenever someone confessed to her, Sierra would deliberately distance herself from them, sometimes cutting off contact completely.
Holly glanced at him. “You’re worried about losing friends?”
Nicholas nodded. “Obviously.”
Holly fell silent.
That was true. Other than Sierra and her, everyone around him was just him drinking buddy. When it really mattered, not one of them could be counted on.
After thinking it over, she finally gave him an answer.
“Relax. Even if Sierra turns you down, she won’t completely cut ties with you. At most, she’ll do everything she can to make you give up on her.”
