Chapter 493
“Really?” Nicholas still looked unsure after Holly gave him her opinion.
“Really.” Holly thought he was being too timid. “You’re never this hesitant. What’s up with you acting differently. when it comes to emotions?”
“You don’t get it.”
Holly said exactly what she thought. “No, I don’t. All I know is that if you like someone and don’t even have the nerve to admit it, then there’s no point in liking them at all.”
“You make it sound like you’d confess the second you met someone you liked,” Nicholas shot back.
“What’s there to be afraid of?” Holly had always been bold when it came to this kind of thing. “If I really met someone I liked, then as long as he wasn’t dating anyone and wasn’t married, I’d go after him with everything I had.”
The corner of Nicholas’s lips twitched.
Holly gritted her teeth. “What does that look supposed to mean?”
Nicholas really was not afraid of getting hit. “I kind of feel sorry for whoever ends up being liked by you.‘
He truly could not picture what Holly would be like if she ever fell for someone. She hit him whenever they argued. If the other person did not like her back, would she chase him down and beat him up too?
“I’ll go tell Sierra right now that you like her.” Holly was starting to feel he deserved all the sassiness coming toward him.
“The person you like would be the luckiest man alive.” Nicholas changed his tune at once. He could not afford to cross her at all. “I just wonder who’ll be lucky enough to become your husband someday.”
Holly rolled her eyes and stopped bothering him.
After glancing in the direction Sierra had gone, she started the car and drove off.
When Sierra walked back into her home, Anna and Tommy were already waiting for her in the living room. The second he saw her, Tommy ran over and threw his arms around her. “Mom!”
Sierra crouched down and hugged him back as Tommy kissed her on the cheek. Sierra blinked in surprise. Why was he suddenly so affectionate tonight?
“Mom,” Tommy called sweetly.
Sierra’s voice softened, her expression gentle. “Yes?”
Tommy looked up at her with his big round eyes. “Are you happier now?”
Sierra rubbed his head. “I’m happy the second I see you.”
“If anything happens, just tell me and grandma.” Tommy held her hand, his face stern as if he was making a serious promise. “We’ll always be your family,”
Sierra froze.
She realized he was trying to comfort her because of John.

During her years of marriage, she had shared everything with John. They had been really, really close.
“Sure.”
Maybe it was because she was surrounded by love, or maybe it was because it still had not fully sunk in, or maybe her feelings had simply been worn away. The divorce itself did not stir much emotion in her. She only felt a little regret over those five beautiful years.
“Get some rest early tonight. I’ll take you to handle the asset transfers in a day or two,” Anna said.
Anna had gotten into a coma only after Sierra had been married for a year, so she naturally knew how deeply Sierra had loved John.
“No.” Sierra did not want to let herself stop. “We’ll go tomorrow.”
Anna reminded her, “Once everything is transferred to your name, the King family will bring you over to have a talk. Are you ready for that?”
It wasn’t that Anna doubted Sierra. It was just that after ending such a great five–year relationship, there was no way ending it would leave no mark at all. Anna herself had broken things off cleanly with Nathan back then, but it had still taken her a long time to move on.
“I’ll be fine. The transfer will take a few days to go through anyway.” Sierra did not want to leave herself idle. ” That will be enough time to adjust.”
