[Alright)
Sterta was puzzled Hadn’t he told her to keep some distance from Joey? Why was he sending Joey to pick her up now?
Once Maxwell saw that she had agreed, he told his grandfather, then called Winnie after finishing everything else “Any progress about what I asked you to look into?”
“The person you asked me to investigate is in Jade City,” Winnie reported. “She has ties to Solomon Henderson.”
Maxwell frowned.
Solomon Henderson?
How had she gotten involved with him?
“What kind of ties?” He asked.
“Unclear, currently.” Winnie sensed this person might be important to him, so she chose her words carefully. “All I know is that she’s living in a property under Solomon’s name. No one else seems to know about it.”
Maxwell pressed his lips, the air around him turned cold. Only after a long pause did he speak in an emotionless voice. “Alright.”
Winnie asked, as usual, “Should I keep looking into it?”
Maxwell said, “No.”
“Understood.” Winnie nodded on the other side.
The call ended there, but Maxwell’s mood did not settle after he hung up. If anything, his own suspicions made it worse.
At three that afternoon, Sierra was fully sober.
Holly and Nicholas both left after lunch while Anna went over the things Sierra needed to watch out for once she got to the King family.
“It was Cyrus who invited you into the King family,” Anna told her as clearly as she could. “No matter how polite or kind they seem on the surface, don’t open up completely to them.”
“I know.” Sierra was still wary of the King family.
Anna looked at her. “There’s something you might not be able to accept, but I still hope you’ll think about it.”
“What is it?” Sierra blinked.
“If Cyrus introduces Charlie and his brothers to you, then call them whatever he introduces them as,” Anna said. She did not care much about this, however, “Use those same titles in public too.”
“Calling them uncles?” Sierra asked, confused.
Anna nodded “Yes.”
Sierra pressed her lips, clearly hesitant
Anna patted her shoulder. “If you really don’t want to, I won’t force you. But this would irritate Charlie the most, and it would also let everyone know that Cyrus’s granddaughter has really appeared”

The buzz from the banquet had already started to die down over the past month. If they wanted to protect Sierra, they needed something new.
“Alright.” Sierra agreed.
“It you really can’t bring yourself to say it, then don’t force it.” Anna did not push her. She only gave advice on many things.
Sierra nodded.
The two of them talked a while longer. Around three thirty, Marcus came in and told her there was a car outside for her.
Sierra said goodbye to Anna, picked up her purse, and headed out. She had barely taken two steps when she saw Maxwell getting out of the car in an expensive suit. He gave her a slight nod, then looked past her at Anna, who was standing in the doorway.
He spoke politely and formally. “Aunt Anna.”
Anna gave a quiet hum.
“Grandpa asked me to invite you both home for a simple meal,” Maxwell said, passing along the old man’s message.
