Chapter 533
“What’s wrong?” Sierra noticed Tommy was thinking about something.
“It’s nothing.” Tommy pushed all his thoughts down. He believed Sierra would always love him. “If some other men confess to you later, you can try to go out with him.”
“I’m not planning to get married again,” Sierra told him.
If Tommy hadn’t been scared and worried, he would not have stood outside the door listening to her conversation with Nicholas. He was only a little over four years old now. Even if he was more mature than most kids his age, he was still just a boy.
Children had always been more sensitive. She knew he was worried about whether his parents would remarry and have other children.
She could not make any promises about John, but she could make one when it came to herself.
Tommy’s voice softened. “Why?”
“Because I’m very happy with my life right now,” Sierra said truthfully. “Living with you and your grandma makes me very happy.”
She did not want to build a new relationship with anyone else, and there was no room in her world for anyone else anyway.
Tommy blinked.
Sierra pinched his cheek. “Don’t worry. I’ll always love you, and you’ll be my only son.”
Tommy did not say anything, but his faint smile gave away how happy he was.
Sierra smiled.
A child was still a child, after all.
“I’m going downstairs to practice with the piano now!” Tommy’s mood brightened, and he ran out of the room. Once he got downstairs and made sure Sierra had not come out, he called John.
John was in a meeting room at Henderson Group at that moment, discussing business with a certain someone.
When Loren saw John had a call coming in, he politely said, “Go ahead and take it.”
John answered right in front of him without hiding it. His voice was calm and deep. “Hello.”
“I’ve got good news and bad news. Which one do you want first?” Tommy sounded a little smug.
“The bad news.” John made his choice.
“Nicholas confessed to Mom.” Tommy did it on purpose. He wanted John to understand the situation. Tommy was not asking for John and Sierra to get back together, but he wanted them to become friends who could interact normally at least.
John’s expression remained cool, “The good news is that she turned him down.”
Tommy’s voice came through at once. “No, no, no!”
John paused.

Tommy continued making things up with a serious tone. “The good news is that my plan to collect twelve dads is finally making progress.”
John’s eyes darkened.
What did he mean by that? Had Sierra not rejected Nicholas? She didn’t agree, did she? Or was it something else?
“The bad news is for you. The good news is for me,” Tommy added. “I won’t be contacting you for the next two days. I need to bond with my new future dad.”
“Ha.” John finally opened his mouth.
Tommy was baffled. “What are you laughing at?”
John put the pieces together almost at once. “Making progress doesn’t mean there is real progress. And even if there is, that progress bar can still drop back to zero.”
Tommy fell silent.
“She rejected him, didn’t she?” John thought about Sierra and knew the answer right away.
