Tammy was visibly shaken when Sierra mentioned Maxwell.

Long-forgotten memories came rushing back. Fragments of the past flashed through her mind, and for a moment, time seemed to stop.

Seeing the dazed look on her face, Sierra guessed there had to be some history between her and Maxwell. Otherwise, Tammy would not have reacted that way.

“It’s alright if you don’t want to talk about it,” Sierra said.

She had only asked because she wanted to hear what kind of person Maxwell really was from someone who knew him. Even now, she still found it hard to believe he had anything to do with what happened to her mother back then.

“I know him,” Tammy said. “We used to be very close.”

“I see.” Sierra did not press Tammy.

She did not want to drag up painful memories Tammy had already buried. If they really had been that close, why would she react to the mere mention of his name so strongly?

Tammy took the initiative and asked, “What is it?”

“It’s nothing,” Sierra said.

“I’m fine, really.” Tammy had already let go of the past. It was just that she had not heard that name for far too long. So long that the mention of his name brought back memories. “Ask whatever you want. If I have the answer, I’ll tell you”

Sierra stared at her for a while.

Once she was sure Tammy was not forcing herself to act strong, she asked, “I want to know what kind of a person he is.

“He has a strong sense of justice. He is loyal to his friends and respectful to his elders,” Tammy said. She had nothing bad to say about him. “He’s a good man.”

Sierra nodded.

She had not spent much time around Maxwell. Her only impression was that he kept work and personal matters very separate and had a cold demeanor.

That sounded nothing like the man Tammy was describing.

“But I have not seen him in years, so I don’t really know what he is like right now,” Tammy added, not wanting Sierra to take her words as the full picture. “Do you need something from him?”

“No.” Sierra came up with an excuse on the spot. “He’s my cousin, after all. I should know a little about him.

What had happened to her mother was not something she could casually tell anyone. It was a family matter, and it also involved the King family.

Tammy froze for a second, then quickly nodded in understanding. “Right. Marcus told me earlier that your grandfather is Cyrus King. If that’s the case, then you and Maxwell really are cousins. ”

Sierra’s identity as part of the Bell family and the Handerson family had been so fixed in Tatumy’s mind that when Sir_Ext mentioned Maxwell earlier, Tammy had not connected the two at all

Sierra nodded in acknowledgement.

Tammy smiled. “Then you can relax Maxwell has always treated his own family well. Even the bay a hush shly, the only shewan it to people with bad intentions.”

“That’s good to hear, then,” Sierra said.

Tammy smiled faintly.

A moment later, Tammy looked at Sierra like she wanted to ask something else. However, she couldn’t say the words out loud. After struggling for nearly a minute, she finally asked, “Why did you suddenly ask me about him?”

Even Solomon did not know she and Maxwell had known each other in the past. So, why had Sierra suddenly brought him up?

“When I was in the car with Maxwell some time ago, he asked me a few questions,” Sierra said honestly.

Tammy’s fingers twitched. “What did he ask?”

Sierra told her about their conversation.

When Maxwell had asked about Solomon, Sierra had not thought much of it. She had taken it as casual conversation. But when he asked whether Solomon had a girlfriend, she realized his real aim was probably something else.

Now that she thought about it, the world really was becoming smaller.

After hearing everything, Tammy’s eyes shifted slightly. “Is he doing alright?”

“He’s doing pretty well.” Sierra was only stating the facts. “He’s the CEO of King Group now and he has a lot of influence in the family. Some people even say his father is a little scared of him.”

The tightness in Tammy’s chest slowly eased. “That’s good.” 1

Sierra tapped on her phone a few times and handed it to her. “This is his contact information. You can decide for yourself whether you want to add him.”

If it had only been something one-sided, Sierra would not have gotten involved. Still, Maxwell had asked and Tammy had reacted to the mention of him. Solomon was also a complete scumbag, anyway.

In that case, it was better to leave the choice to Tarnmy.
