Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 600

The middle-aged man was about to argue back.

Suddenly, Tony lowered his voice and said quietly, "Something came up. The plan is off."

The man froze and stared at him.

Tony went on, "I'll shove you over to those two in a minute. Tell them exactly what I said."

The man was stunned. So, had this guy really been sent by the boss?

"Miss, go on up first." Tony gave them a look. "I'll come up after I deal with my family matters."

"Do you need help?" Sierra's thoughts were still in a mess after what had just happened.

"It's fine." Tony refused at once. "I can handle it."

Sierra played along. "Call me if you need anything."

Tony nodded. "Alright."

Sierra and Marcus looked back every few steps, but in the end, they walked into King Group's entrance.

Tony looked at the three people still standing there in a daze. First, he waved the crowd away. Then, he turned to the three of them.

"Didn't you just call and say the plan was still on?" The middle-aged man no longer looked deranged. He frowned and spoke in a serious tone. "Why did you suddenly change your mind?"

"You're asking me?" Tony somehow took out a rope and tied his hands behind his back.

The man was completely confused. "What are you doing?"

"If you're going to put on a show, do it right." Tony shoved him toward the other two after tying him up. His eyes then swept over their faces, memorizing what they looked like. "There were too many people watching just now. For all we know, someone could be filming nearby."

The two women immediately stepped forward and grabbed the man.

Tony took out his phone and tapped a few times. "The car will be here in a minute. Just wait."

The three of them instinctively listened to him, intimidated by how calm and steady he was. "Okay."

Ten minutes later, a police car arrived.

Tony handed the three of them over to the police officers who got out of the car. "Officer, this man just tried to attack my boss with a knife. These three are accomplices."

"Okay," Sierra replied.

Only after Winnie left did Sierra take out her phone and give it a look. The moment she read the message, her brows furrowed tightly. She looked at Marcus beside her.

"Why is Tony going to the police station?"

"Instead of guessing who set this up, it was better to let the police investigate." Marcus and Tony had a certain tacit understanding. "It saves time and trouble."

Sierra nodded.

That made sense.

But...

Thinking back to how Marcus had pulled out his phone the second Tony called that man "Dad" while stopping him, she grew even more confused. "Did you already know Tony was going to do that?"

The moment Tony stepped forward and called that man "Dad", her mind had gone blank for several seconds.

It was only when she saw Marcus pull out his phone that she realized it might all be an act.
