Chapter 801
Chapter 601
“I don’t know,” Marcus said honestly when Sierra asked if he and Tony planned this.
“Then why were you filming?” Sierra asked.

“As evidence,” Marcus said. “If Tony was injured, the video could make the man pay his medical bills. If Tony subdued him, it would prove that the man committed a crime first.”
Only then did Sierra realize how quick both Marcus and Tony were on their feet. Tony, especially. The second that middle–aged man rushed over, he reacted without hesitation and called out “Dad” right away.
He even fooled her, his boss.
With that thought in mind, she texted Tony and told him to cooperate with the police and call her if he needed anything.
Right after she sent it, Maxwell came in from outside. He looked even sterner and more distant than usual in his black suit. The moment he saw her, he said, “I’ll explain to you what happened out there.”
“Alright.” Sierra did not refuse.
“For now, this is the company’s organizational chart and the management team’s profiles.” Maxwell handed the documents to her. “Once you’re done, I’ll take you to meet them.”
Sierra took them. “Alright.”
Her mother had already shown her their information at home, and she almost knew their backgrounds by heart. Still, knowing it was one thing. She still had to go through the process.
Twenty minutes later, she was done. Compared with the copy her mother had, this one only included basic information.
“I’m done,” Sierra said, handing the documents back to him.
Over the next hour, Maxwell took her around the company. He explained the department’s work and introduced its manager. By the end, she had met almost everyone listed in the file. A few were away on business, so she did not get to meet them.
“If there’s anything else you want to know, you can tell me now,” Maxwell said after the formalities were
over.
“I still need some time to sort through everything I learned today.” Sierra did not ask for much. “We can talk about the rest later.”
Maxwell did not say much.
After a brief exchange, he sent them on their way. The whole time, they stayed polite and distant. No one would have guessed they were cousins.
“Miss,” Marcus started when he got into the elevator with her, “why didn’t you stop by finance just now?
“Finance is the heart of a company. It won’t be appropriate for me to get involved with my current status. Sierra understood that well. “When Maxwell introduced me around just now, some people already had
opinions
A small company like Medicare was different. There was less scheming, and indiging,
King Group was a publicly traded company. Maxwell had suddenly introduced her so formally, even though she had no reputation or achievements. It was normal for some people to have opinion about it. They just kept them to themselves because of Maxwell’s position for the time being,
“You’re right,” Marcus said as he opened the car door for her
Sierra got in. Just as she was about to tell him to go to the police station and bring Tony back, Marcus started the car and suddenly said, “You’ve grown again.”
Sierra looked at him in confusion before giving him a suspicious look..
“Given time, you’ll become an impressive entrepreneur,” Marcus said in a stern tone. “The people who doubt you now will see you in a different light then.”
“You…” Sierra felt there was something odd about what he had said, but she couldn’t put her finger on it
Marcus looked at her in the rearview mirror. “You really didn’t notice?”
Sierra looked at him. “What was I supposed to notice?”
Marcus said, “I was encouraging you.”
