Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 602

Marcus then said, "As your bodyguard, assistant, and driver, I don't want to lose my job. I hope you'll get it together and focus on your career. Don't let other people's opinions or words get to you."

Sierra said nothing. At that moment, she truly understood that the more serious someone like Marcus looked, the sharper his words could be.

"Turn around up ahead," Sierra said, changing the subject. "We're picking up Tony."

Marcus frowned. He couldn't understand the decision. Why did they need to pick up Tony? Did he not have legs? Could he not find his own way back?

Those were his thoughts, true. But for the sake of his paycheck, he still turned the car around and headed for the police station. Just before they got there, he said, "Miss."

Sierra was looking down at her phone as she replied to messages. "Yeah?"

"Don't spoil your employees too much," Marcus said seriously. "They'll start pushing their luck."

"Alright," Sierra said.

"Right," Marcus replied.

Sierra then said, "From now on, when you're working as my driver and bodyguard, don't speak unless I ask you to."

Marcus blinked.

Sierra gave him exactly what he had asked for. "Those two jobs only require you to drive well and keep me safe."

Marcus opened his mouth, but in the end, he pushed down every word he wanted to say.

Sierra waited a while and still did not hear him argue or defend himself, so she looked up at the back of his head.

Marcus stayed silent and did his job.

Only when the car stopped in front of the police station did Marcus turn to look at Sierra with complete seriousness. There was even a hint of sadness in his cool eyes. "Miss, do you really like Tony that much?"

Sierra was confused.

"He hasn't even been with you for a full day, and you've already sided with him against me several times," Marcus said, looking her in the eyes. "You're playing favorites."

Tony said, "Does that count as quick thinking on my part? Did I pass the trial period?"

"You did." Sierra's gaze landed on the back of his head. "But I have a question."

Tony sounded like he could read her mind. "You want to ask how I knew those two women were working with him, and how I handled it so fast?"

"Yes." Sierra answered directly.

Looking back on the whole thing, it was almost like Tony had seen everything coming. Even though he and Marcus had come together to work as bodyguards, and Marcus also thought he was solid, this was not something she could take lightly.

She needed to ask what needed to be ask, so she would not grow suspicious of him later

If nothing unexpected happened, both of them would become the two people she would give her full trust.

"Ms. Bell," Tony said with a slightly playful smile, "do you really think this is the best time to ask that? I'm the one holding the wheel."
