Chapter 605

Soon, it was going to be Tommy’s birthday.

After discussing with the hotel manager about her plans, Anna looked at Sierra and asked, “Are you going to invite him?”

Anna did not say a name, but Sierra know.

“There’s no need to invite him.” John understood Sierra, and Sierra understood him just as well. “He won’t miss, any important day in Tommy’s life. He’ll be here.”

At the same time, Tommy was asking John the same question.

As usual, the father and son bickered with each other.

Tommy continued to make things up as he said with a straight face, “Since you’re my original dad, I’ll save you a piece of cake on my birthday. No need to thank me too much.”

“You’re welcome. No need to save me any,” John said casually.

Tommy paused.

He did not need to save him any? Did that mean he wasn’t coming?

“Since you put it that way, then I’ll save it for my other dads.” Tommy refused to lose to John. “Don’t get jealous or mad when the time comes.”

John raised a brow. “Do I look that petty?”

“Yes,” Tommy answered without hesitation.

John teased him on purpose. “Why didn’t I know that?”

“When I had just turned three, you made me sleep by myself.” Tommy started listing examples one by one. He remembered all of it clearly. “You even tricked me and said a grown-up three-year-old would not cling to his mom.”

“Right,” John admitted it openly.

“Ever since then, if I want to sleep next to Mom, I have to take care of you before I even get a chance.” Tommy always got a little resentful when he thought about it.

His dad loved him very much. He would never find another dad who loved him this much anymore.

But his dad was also very possessive of his mom. Every night, his dad wanted time alone with her and never considered that he needed his mom too, especially when he was just a child.

John looked at him through the screen, his dark eyes steady. “Bringing up old stories out of nowhere… What are you trying to say to me?”

Tommy stayed stubborn. “Nothing. I’m just reminding you that you’re petty.”

“Really, now?” John asked, one brow raised.

“That’s right!” Tommy answered swiftly.

“I’ve heard your opinion.” John used the calmest tone to say the most annoying thing possible. “Anything else?”

Tommy fell silent and he puffed out his cheeks. “No.”

Stupid Dad! All he ever did was tease him.

“Have a good birthday.” John glanced at his schedule and didn’t leave Tommy disappointed. “Once I finish what I’m working on, I’ll come over. If someone stops me then, I hope my little Tommy will help me out.”

“That depends on my mood. Hmph!” Tommy turned smug again.

John smiled. That smug little look after getting what he wanted was almost exactly the same as Sierra’s.

“I’m not talking to you anymore. I still haven’t finished my puzzle.” Now that he had the answer he wanted, Tommy had no intention of staying on the call.

“Sure,” John said.

“I’m hanging up,” Tommy said.

“Alright,” John replied.

“Bye,” Tommy said, then quickly added one more. “Dad.”

He said it so softly that by the time John reacted, he had already hung up.

Even so, John still heard that barely audible “Dad.”

John opened Tommy’s chat window and typed a few words.
