"Ms. Wood, please, just eat a little. I still have children at home to support..."
"Ms. Wood, my whole family depends on me..."
"Ms. Wood..."
The maids, the chef, and the other staff... Everyone started trying to persuade her.
This was clearly not her fault, yet they were all pushing the blame onto her. That kind of moral pressure felt exactly like what she had gone through years ago.
Tammy laughed at herself inwardly. On the surface, she took Solomon's hand and looked up at him with a sweet expression, as if nothing had happened.
"What hunger strike? I was waiting for you to come back so we could eat together."
Solomon's scrutinizing gaze settled on her.
Tammy's eyes were clear. She looked as if every word she had just said was true.
"Alright." Solomon led her over to sit down.
"This dish is my favorite. Give it a taste." Tammy put some food on his plate. "Isn't it different from what you usually eat?"
She knew there was no point in fighting Solomon, and she knew he never listened to reason. No matter what she said, he would not care. The only thing she could do was keep charming him like before and keep playing the marionette he liked.
Then, once he let down his guard, she would leave for good with her sister.
"Right." Solomon took a bite. "It's different, but it's good."
Tammy smiled, her eyes curving. "See?"
Solomon stared at her.
Ever since Tammy found out about him and Maya a week ago, she hadn't sent him a single message. The maids and the butler had all said she had been down ever since returning to the villa. He had planned to come back today and use those people's fate to scare her into giving up the thoughts she should not have.
Now, it seemed there was no need.
"What is it?" Tammy's eyes were clear and naturally alluring.
He knew Tammy was lying to him.
She was full of lies.
She clearly did not love him, and she clearly wanted to leave him more than anything. Yet every time he was about to make things hard for her, she became especially good at feigning obedience. If she hadn't dropped the act after talking to Sierra last time, he might really have been fooled by that fake gentleness.
"If you know I'm scary, then be good." Solomon did not expose her. His broad hand slid from her cheek to her neck. "You should know by now that I always do what I say."
Tammy nodded. "I understand."
Solomon rubbed her earlobe lightly. "As long as you behave, you won't lose everything you have."
"Alright," Tammy answered obediently, but what she really thought was the exact opposite.
She did not want anything Solomon gave her.
She only wanted to leave.
