Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 622

Marcus gave Tony a look, and Sierra gave him the same one.

Tony froze before explaining, "What I mean is, he's a director at Lynch Group. What kind of business would bring him to a hospital? I never heard of Lynch Group having any business in medicine."

Sierra watched him for a moment without saying a word. As long as the people she hired did not hurt her and break the law, they could be as weird as they wanted. "You can run after him and ask. Maybe you'll get an exclusive interview."

Tony blinked.

Marcus blinked too.

They both turned to look at her at the same time.

Tony even turned to Marcus and spoke right in front of Sierra. "Do you think the Miss knows how to throw shade now?"

"That isn't throwing shade. It's growth," Marcus said.

Tony closed his eyes. How did Marcus manage to tie everything back to growth?

Sierra stopped listening to their nonsense and took Marcus with her to handle her business. Tony, knowing where he belonged, stayed in the car and waited.

Meanwhile, two men on the second-floor of a café saw everything unfold across from the hospital. One was Sierra's uncle Charlie. The other was her great-uncle Cedric, the man she had just met.

"I thought Sierra was some kind of monster when you said you were willing to work with me just to deal with her," Cedric said to Charlie after glancing at Tony lounging in the car. "But from what I just saw, she's just a clueless rookie who just got into the business world."

"She's a rookie, that's true." Charlie did not deny that at all. "But she has Anna, Nathan, and my father throwing their weight behind her..."

"So what?" Cedric cut him off.

Anna and Nathan had truly been formidable. Back then, he had suffered quite a bit at their hands.

But that time was over.

Anna had disappeared for more than twenty years. Nathan had already handed many of the key operations over to the current president of Lynch Group. As for Cyrus, he was just an old man already with one foot in the grave.

Charlie gave a thoughtful look. "You mean..."

"A man protects a woman for only one reason. He hasn't gotten tired of her yet," Cedric said, his tone especially crude. "I gave her a good look just now. She's pretty enough to make a man want to protect her despite himself."

Charlie frowned.

That did not sound reliable at all.

"Find a man to get close to her and start flirting. Get her into bed once, and that'll be enough," Cedric said, fully convinced he understood how a man would think. "Once she has slept with another man, do you think John will still protect her?"

He would.

That was Charlie's first thought.

From what Loren had reported, John seemed to be really in love with Sierra.
