Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 629

"Of course you're right, your royal highness Queen Holly," Nicholas immediately changed his tone and shook off his earlier grief. "It's true that John is a good man, but he's exceptionally awful when he decides to act like a scumbag."

Holly nodded. "Exactly."

Nicholas then added, "From now on, we'll be the biggest obstacle in John's way."

"What obstacle?" Holly rolled her eyes at Nicholas. "You want John to kick me aside that badly? No wonder you're still single. You don't know how to talk or how to stand up for your own people, and when you like someone, you're still a coward."

Holly kept going while Nicholas obediently listened. He did not dare argue back with even a single word. He had always said Holly was terrifying. Every time he saw her, she was either scolding him or about to.

"What are you looking at? Was I wrong?" Holly said through gritted teeth.

"You can't be wrong, can you? Everything you said is true." Nicholas immediately started trying to make her happy. "Every word was worth being memorized and recited repeatedly."

Holly saw right through him immediately. "Then what did I just say?"

Nicholas blinked, slightly sweating. Was it better for him to admit he had not been listening?

Holly stared at him. "Didn't you just say it was worth being memorized and recited?"

"You were talking too fast. I didn't have time to remember it." Nicholas really did not have the courage to push Holly like that. "Why don't you say it again? I'll memorize it properly this time."

Holly shot him a look and went off to find Sierra while Nicholas hurried after her.

When they got there, Sierra and John were already taking a family photo with Tommy. The photographer had the camera aimed at them, but the moment he pressed the shutter, the picture of three turned into a picture of four.

The photographer looked confused.

Staring at the photo, he said, "Why is there an extra person?"

Only then did John notice that behind Tommy who was standing in the middle, was Nathan.

At some point, he had quietly stepped into the shot. Sensing John looking at him, Nathan calmly looked back at him.

"Mr. Henderson." The photographer was specially hired to cover Tommy's birthday so they would have professional footage every year. "Someone extra got into that shot. We need to shoot it again."

John answered with one line. "They'd think I'm down to earth."

Nathan was speechless again.

How shameless!

Feeling more frustrated than he had in ages, Nathan headed towards Anna. In the past, he had always been the one leaving other people speechless. But now, a younger man had done it to him. This son-in-law was not worth having.

"Anna." He immediately started complaining. "Why were you helping John?"

Anna did not even look at him.

Taking a family photo had been part of Tommy's birthday tradition ever since he was born. She did not want Tommy to grow up and realize his fifth birthday was missing a picture with both his mom and dad when he one day flipped through the photo album.

"When he called you Mom and you didn't deny it, does that mean you approve of him and Sierra getting back together?" Nathan asked. Then he started muttering to himself, "Now that I think about it, he treats Sierra pretty well, he's good-looking, capable..."
