Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 642

"Don't make such guarantees so casually," Sierra reminded John. "I don't want the same thing to happen again."

John still wanted to say something, but Sierra walked away to find Holly and the others.

Lance came over with his head lowered, his arms and legs still sore. "Boss."

John did not answer as his eyes stayed on Sierra.

Robin pulled Lance away instead. Why walk straight into a brewing storm at a time like this?

For the rest of the night, Sierra had fun with Tommy together with Holly and Lucy, while John sat nearby and watched them.

Nathan was originally worried that John and Sierra had talked things through in the dressing room and made up for good. But from the looks of it, John did not make much progress. Sierra still disliked him as usual.

"Have Sierra come back to the family residence for dinner next week," Daniel suddenly appeared and said. "Let's have a gathering."

Nathan refused without hesitation. "Not interested."

"I wasn't inviting you," Daniel said.

"I'm refusing for Sierra," Nathan said.

Daniel's expression darkened. It was obvious that he was unhappy with Nathan's attitude. "I saw John's attitude toward her. Don't you want to bring her home to meet the family?"

"They're just some uninteresting people. She doesn't need to know them," Nathan said. He had no intention of wasting his daughter's time.

"If she doesn't know them, how is she supposed to take over the Lynch family and Lynch Group?" Daniel said coldly. "Do you think the family will simply stand by while you transfer your shares to some young woman they don't know?"

Nathan looked at him.

Daniel explained the stakes to Nathan.

"You know their temperament better than I do. You and Sierra haven't done an official paternity test yet. Technically, your shares should go to your younger uncle's child."

"Who I give my shares to isn't up to them," Nathan said.

Everyone in Harbor City knew his reputation. No one would be bold enough to cross him openly.

With him there, those people would hold themselves back. They wouldn't be overly resistant to Sierra inheriting Nathan's shares as much in the future, either. Even if someone said something, John would not let Sierra get hurt even a little.

If one meal could help Sierra solve this problem, it was worth it.

Daniel looked at him suspiciously. "Will he go?"

"He will," Nathan nodded.

Daniel's cloudy but sharp eyes began to show some other emotions.

He thought that John still caring about Sierra was already something unexpected, but from Nathan's words, John still protected her like his wife.

In that case, perhaps certain decisions needed to be reconsidered.
