Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 647

Chapter 647

Sierra glanced downstairs at Tommy’s question. “He went downstairs.”

Tommy froze.

Was it because of what he had said earlier?

“Do you want to go see?” Sierra asked.

“What?” Tommy could not react in time.

“He went downstairs with Marcus to have a chat.” Sierra was only worried they might make too much noise and wake up Tony, who loved watching drama more than anything. “I don’t know if they’ll fight.”

Tommy said, “Dad can’t beat Marcus.”

While saying that was embarrassing for his dad, Marcus was really strong. Tommy had never seen anyone stronger so far.

Sierra said nothing. She didn’t know much about John’s fighting skills, but there had never been any need for him to step in himself during their five years of marriage. Even when there was any conflict, the bodyguards he brought with him would handle it.

“But he won’t lose completely,” Tommy quickly added.

Sierra agreed with that. John was smart. He never exposed his own weakness against someone else’s strength. So far, she hadn’t found any weakness in him.

The truth was close to what Sierra and Tommy had guessed. When John and Marcus reached the garden outside the villa, John spoke first. “I can tell you really don’t like me.”

“Yes,” Marcus said.

“When are you resigning?” John asked.

Marcus raised an eyebrow. It was rare for confusion to appear on Marcus’s usually expressionless face, but he quickly gave his answer. “I’m not.”

“Then live with that for the rest of your life.” John did not seem afraid of being attacked for saying it. “I’ll stay by her side for the rest of my life whether Sierra remarries me or not.”

Marcus didn’t become nervous at all. “You’re no match for me.”

John admitted it openly. “No, I’m not.”

Marcus continued. “Your bodyguards can’t beat me,

either.”

John nodded. “True as well.”

“I’ll stop you every time you come,” Marcus said.

In his view, people should never go back to their exes. His boss shouldn’t waste time on someone who had hurt her. She still had to earn enough money to pay him three portions of salaries. She should not let romance stop her from becoming successful.

“You can stop me as many times as you want.” John took out his phone, opened a photo, and showed it to him. But you probably want to know whether this person exists, and how they’re doing right now.

Marcus raised his eyes casually, but one glance was enough to stun him in place. Emotion appeared on his usually blank face and a hint of yearning and gentleness appeared in his eyes. This was a side of him Sierra had never seen, much less Tony.

“Protect Sierra and don’t work against me.” John put his phone away. “I can give you whatever you want.”

Marcus stared at John and he met Marcus’s eyes calmly.

After a long while, Marcus agreed. “Understood.”

His reason was simple. In John’s words, protecting his boss came first while not working against John came second. That meant if John hurt his boss, he could still attack him.

John nodded in acknowledgment.

Their talk ended then and there.

Marcus opened his mouth, wanting to ask something, but he did not know where to start.

“Once Sierra gets the King family’s shares, I’ll tell you everything you want to know.” John never did anything unless he was certain of the outcome. He had prepared everything in advance. “Contact me directly if anything

comes up.”

“Sure,” Marcus said.
