Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 648

Listening to John's warning, Marcus said, "I know where the line is, but Tony doesn't."

In short, go deal with Tony.

Sierra and Tommy had been watching from some distance the whole time, but because they were too far away to hear anything, they only saw John and Marcus standing together for a while. There was no fight and any sort of argument.

"Let's go. There won't be a fight," Sierra said, squeezing Tommy's hand.

Tommy nodded.

They didn't know what John had said to Marcus, but Sierra knew John had bought him.

The reason was simple, too. At breakfast, Marcus had deliberately put John's seat next to hers. After John left, he even said, "Mr. Henderson is alright."

Sierra blinked.

Wasn't Marcus the one who told her never to go back to an ex?

"You can take him in as a suitor," Marcus added. "Have him run errands for you."

Sierra caught the issue in that sentence. "A suitor for running errands?"

"To me, yes," Marcus said.

Sierra fell silent.

She was about to call him a scumbag when Marcus continued, "I hope the person I like treats me like a runner. That way, I can solve a lot of problems for her. She has fewer things to worry about, and I'm happy. It's a win-win situation for us."

Sierra looked at him. This was the first time she had heard him talk about anything personal outside work.

"Do you have someone you like?" Sierra asked.

"No," Marcus said without hesitation.

"Really?" Sierra pressed.

Soon, it was time to go to the Lynch family for the dinner.

Before she left, Anna reminded her again, "Those people from the Lynch family never has anything nice to say. If it somehow turns ugly during dinner and Nathan doesn't handle it, just leave. You don't need to show any courtesy to them at all."

"Can I?" Sierra asked.

"You can," Anna said, giving her confidence. "You can even have Marcus beat them up before you leave."

The worry in Sierra's chest eased at once. She smiled and nodded. "Alright."

At the same time, Sierra understood that Anna must have gone through a lot with the Lynch family back then. Otherwise, she would not have said that.

In reality, Anna had gone through a lot with them.

However, Anna had never been the type to take things in silently. If anyone made her unhappy, she would make them even more unhappy. She would make them pay twice over and teach them that provoking her would never end well as long as she could.
