Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 656

Everyone was somewhat confused when Nathan told them to recall what happened before John left. Even Daniel was a little confused.

Most of them looked completely lost. They had no idea how things had gotten this serious.

"Wasn't it just a glass of wine accidentally spilled on him?" someone said. "That's not such a big deal, is it?"

Nathan looked at them and asked, "What did you say before the wine was spilled?"

Everyone looked at one another.

Pleasantries. Business. Flattery. Whether the divorce was true or not. After a few drinks, they had gotten carried away and asked what John even saw in Sierra.

"Those were just normal questions," someone said as they recalled what they had been talking about. "Isn't that how people always talk at business dinners?"

A lot of people put up a front about being loving husbands and fathers. In reality, it was only an image they wanted to portray. Once the novelty wore off, nothing was left. Surely the CEO of Henderson Group was not actually serious about love.

"Don't tell me he really is..."

"Really what?" Nathan asked.

"Nathan, tell us the truth." Someone began to panic and asked first, "Does John only care about Sierra for business reasons, or does he genuinely care about her?"

Nathan asked, "What do you think?"

Everyone exchanged a glance.

Could it really be true love? But would the Henderson family allow that?

"I've already made it clear enough since the beginning that tonight's family dinner is to welcome Sierra back and introduce her to everyone," Nathan said as he pulled the subject back to the problem at hand with a cold tone. "But from the moment you arrived, all of you focused on John. From the way you spoke, you looked down on Sierra too. If someone you cared about was treated like that, could you calmly sit through the rest of the meal?"

"He won't be angry because of what happened today, will he?"

"If he really stops Sierra from inheriting the shares, are we supposed to hand the Lynch family's future to Cedric's kids?"

"If his daughter can do it, so can mine." Cedric's expression darkened at once when he heard that despite being forced to shut up earlier. What was the meaning of all of this?!

"Forget it. We might as well give it to the successor Nathan trained instead of those kids."

"Nathan, it's true that we've been inconsiderate today. Put in a good word with Sierra for us. Tell her not to hold it against us. Tell her that we're getting old."

All of them started talking over one another. By the end, they had all begun considering their own interests instead.

Judging from the Lynch family's current situation, if they wanted the family to stay prosperous into the future, letting Sierra inherit the shares and having John help manage things was the most effective choice.
