Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117

“Open the door,” I shouted out loud, “now. I swear to God…” my voice trails off as the door suddenly bursts wide open.

Well, that was easier than I thought it was going to be. I blinked, surprised by the sight in front of me, Hades looking a little off, not like his usual confident self.

“Raven,” his voice is raspy, and he’s pulling on his shirt, his face slightly red, his eyes glazed. “You should go”

His voice is harsh. I flinch but refuse to back down.

“Where is she?” I step into the room, blatantly ignoring him.

“Who?” he sounds bewildered, tugging at the collar on his shirt, his voice rather weak and surprisingly faint.

“Marissa,” I said, confused.

I can see the table set up, see the remnants of food on both plates. I glance around, but there’s no sign of Marissa. Had I overreacted? Had I let my own feelings for Hades convince me that something was happening when it wasn’t?

Hades eyes swing to Jackson and Aeress in the doorway. “Leave,” he orders, his voice hoarse. “Now,” he commands, coming close to using his Alpha tone, the first time I’ve heard him even come remotely close to doing

that.
