Chapter 180
Hades POV
Her whole body is trembling. I kiss her on the forehead, reassuring her as I place her on the bed in our makeshift bedroom in the Shadow Moon Pack. I kneel, taking hold of her hands in mine, looking directly into her eyes.
I know instinctively what’s wrong with her. It’s been on her mind since she told me about the hunters coming
She’d even told me all about her dream with the moon goddess, but I was skeptical that it was going to come true For Raven’s sake though, I pushed my skepticism aside and just did my best to soothe her.
“Honey, I know you’re worried, but we will be okay. We’ve got guards surrounding the perimeter. Hunters won’t get past them. All of us are safe. Nobody is going to get hurt, I promise you.”
I’m doing the best I can to reassure her, but she looks unconvinced.
“I know we do, but I have a feeling Hades,” she protested weakly, “I just know they’re going to breach it. We have to go back to your pack. They aren’t coming here, they’re coming for us,”
She doesn’t want her family in danger. I understand that, but I’m also slightly frustrated at the same time.
“We’ll go back tomorrow,” I said, sighing inwardly and giving up.
She sounded so certain, so sure, it would be futile to argue against her. I guessed we were putting the wedding on hold. She reads my mind.
“We can get married later. Let’s deal with this first.”
I have to ask. “Are you sure you aren’t just trying to prolong the wedding?”
It’s my insecurity niggling at me, but I can’t help it.
