Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70

Hades POV

I study the two shifters who are restrained in separate cells, silver cuffs tight around their wrists, their arms above their head as they hang from a hook in the ceiling, silver shackles tying their legs together. There is fear in their eyes. They swallow nervously. I pick one, my hands wearing leather gloves, a silver blade in my hand. His eyes widen. I give him a malicious smile, twisting the knife in my hands. I wasn’t known for being ruthless for nothing. They knew my reputation. They knew I wouldn’t give them a single shred of mercy.

“Tell me who you are and what you are doing in my pack.” My voice is hard.

“I’m one of you,” he protests, trying to deny he has some ulterior motive.

Big mistake. He smells nothing like my pack members. He hasn’t been here long enough to develop the same mixture of fir trees, dirt, earth and so forth that is similar to everybody else. I plunge the knife into his thigh, and he throws his head back and screams. It’s like music to my ears. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to torture anyone. I’m enjoying myself immensely and so is my wolf. We’ve never shied away from doing this type of thing when it’s become necessary. The safety of my pack was my priority.

I yank the blade out. Blood trickles down his leg. “Who are you and why are you here?” I repeated slowly, with great emphasis.

I’m not one to waste time. The longer he delayed telling me, the more pain he was going to feel. Enough to make him scream and cry, but not enough to kill him.

He clenches his jaw. His shirt is ripped, exposing his bare chest. I begin to carve into his flesh, tearing into his flesh as he roars and cries out.

“Feel like talking yet?” I grunt.

The other shifter is watching, his face ashen. He knows he’s next if his comrade doesn’t talk. Already, he’s unable to watch, his eyes fixated on the floor. I grin to myself. The worst thing about being next to somebody being tortured is being able to envision just what is in store for you when it’s your turn. There are no illusions about what’s going to happen or any doubts about my persona. I like it that way.
