Chapter 94
Raven POV
I barely have time to swipe the keycard and step into my hotel room when he bursts inside, kicking the door behind him. I smile inwardly. Thank you, Damien. My plan had worked. Hades was bursting with jealousy at seeing me with another man, even if he didn’t know that man had been my own brother. I turn, even as he glowers at me, his hands clenched tightly into fists. I try not to smirk at him, watching the way his body stiffens, his nose rising as he sniffs, trying to determine if there’s somebody else in my room.
“Haven’t you heard of knocking?” I arch a brow at him, feigning a calm I don’t feel, butterflies in my stomach.
The way he’s looking at me is as though he’s a dying man about to have his last meal. He breathes heavily, his jaw clenched tightly. His eyes flicker between dark obsidian and his normal hazel colour. His wolf is having just as hard a time resisting me. Good. I can’t deny the attraction I feel for him, although I do my best to hide it. I can’t let him see me be vulnerable and risk him wanting to end this.
“Where is he?” he demanded hoarsely, still glancing around, his gaze expectant with a hint of darkness to it.
“Where is who?” I know what he’s referring to.
The mystery man. The one I’d had dinner with. I inwardly smile to myself. Gotcha. Thank god Damien had agreed to go along with this plan and that he’d gotten me to the Luxe hotel rather quickly considering the distance.
He thinks I have a lover in the room, hiding. I gesture to the room and roll my eyes. “Feel free to have a look but there’s no one here.”
I have nothing to hide. The moment I left the restaurant I bid my farewells to Damien and made my way upstairs alone. Not that Hades knew that.
