A tall figure entered, his presence undeniable. The air in the room seemed to shift as if charged with a force no one could control.
Alpha Ryker.
Jenna’s breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t expected him to show up here-at least not like this, not amid the storm her family had created. But there he was, towering in the doorway, his piercing blue eyes sweeping the
room.
He didn’t need to say anything. His mere presence was enough to command the attention of everyone in the room. No one dared to speak, their gazes riveted to him. His icy stare locked onto Coty first, narrowing with a predatory gleam.
“You’ll do no such thing,” Ryker’s voice was low, cold, and dangerous. It reverberated around the room, silencing even the air.
Coty’s face drained of color, the confident smirk she wore for the past hour faltering. Her hand tightened on the armrest, but she didn’t dare speak.
Ryker took a step further into the room, his broad frame cutting through the space like a force of nature. Every step he took radiated power, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees.
“This meeting isn’t over,” Ryker continued, his gaze now shifting to George and the other board members. “Not until I say it is.”
The room was frozen, suspended in the tension that only Ryker could bring.

“Al… Alpha Ryker, how are you here?” Jenna’s father stuttered in shock. He wasn’t expecting to see him.
You mean to say, “How did I find out you are holding a board meeting without me?” Alpha Ryker growled, causing them all to fidget.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to, but it was a minor case, and I didn’t want to disturb you over something this petty, George Spears answered shakily.
Jenna’s face lit with a smile even though she wanted to handle it personally but seeing the look on their faces made her wolf leap with joy.
“Turns out I have free time, I would love to take part in this meeting,” he snarled.
“Alpha Ryker, this isn’t something you should be involved in, it’s just family iss…” Jenna’s stepmom tried to say but was cut short by a loud bang on the table.
“You should control your wife, George!” Alpha Ryker scowled causing Mrs Chloe to melt but not without staring daggers at Jenna.
Do something, Damian. Coty whispered fiercely to her confused-looking fiance.
“Uncle, you shouldn’t be here. This isn’t worth your time.” Damian said, his voice barely above whispers but loud enough for Alpha Ryker to hear him.
“I’m listening, George,” he urged Jenna’s father, ignoring his nephew.
“Urmm….” George Spears cleared his throat. I’m handing over Jenna’s shares of the company to Coty, he answered as his lips quivered.
Jenna’s eyes widened in disbelief. She never thought her father would go this length for her half-sister.
The room became hot as everyone seemed tense.
“On what ground!?” Alpha Ryker’s voice cut through the air like a blade
George’s lips quivered. “She’s not… she’s not shown interest in the company. Coty has. She’s more
“Loyal?” Ryker cut in, a mocking smile curling his lips. “That’s a bold word to use in a room full of liars.”
Jenna’s stepmother, Chloe, bristled. “Alpha Ryker, this is a family matter. We don’t need-”

Ryker’s hand slammed against the table again, rattling the crystal glasses and silencing the room.
“You don’t get to decide what I need to be involved in,” he growled. “Especially not when my mate is being robbed in broad daylight.”
Jenna’s heart flustered at his words. Mate. He said it like a warning, like a promise-and for the first time in weeks, she felt the shield of his power wrap around her like armor.
“I’m not trying to rob her,” George muttered weakly. “It’s just that-”
“Just that you thought I’d be too busy to notice?” Ryker snapped, his blue eyes burning holes through the older man. “That you could slide her shares under the table to your pet project and no one would call you on it?”

Coty stepped forward, her voice shrill with fake confidence. “This company needs someone who knows what they’re doing. Jenna’s been absent, disinterested. I’ve been involved in the day-to-day. It only makes sense that I take over-”
“Is that so?” Ryker turned his piercing gaze to Jenna, his tone abruptly soft. “You don’t care about any of this, mate?”
Jenna stood slowly. Her wolf paced behind her eyes, teeth bared, eager to speak. But Jenna kept her tone even, her words precise.
