But her body remained sluggish. Her vision faded in and out as Neo hovered over her, his scent thick. She summoned every ounce of strength to push him off.

“I wouldn’t,” Neo sneered, gripping her wrists and pinning them above her head. “You’re far from your Alpha’s protection now, princess.”

Fear flashed through her and her stomach churned.

Her wolf clawed at the surface, wild with rage, but the wolfsbane kept her trapped in a body that wouldn’t obey.

“You’re lucky, you know,” he whispered, crouching beside the bed, his breath brushing her cheek. “Ryker tries to hide you from the rest of us and do you know what that means? It means he loves you… But I would like to see how he would look at you after I’m done with you.”

She flinched as his hand moved toward her neckline.

Then

BOOM!

The suite door slammed open, ripping off its hinges.

Alpha Ryker stood in the doorway, eyes glowing red and dark with rage.

Neo barely had time to register the threat before Ryker crossed the room in a blur. He ripped him off Jenna and hurled him into the wall, the sound of shattering lamps echoed across the room.

“You filthy bastard!” Ryker snarled, fangs elongated, claws out. He lunged, striking Neo across the face with such force that blood sprayed across the suite.

Neo tried to recover, but Ryker was already on top of him, driving a knee into his chest. “You thought you could touch what’s mine?”

“Yours?” Neo coughed, blood pooling at his lip. “She’s just a little sl

Ryker punched him again, this time leaving him dazed and broken on the floor. “You won’t speak of her like that!.”

Jenna’s head lolled, her body still trying to recover. She could hear everything but felt like she couldn’t move.

“Jenna.” Ryker was at her side in a blink. His voice, still tinged with rage, softened as he brushed a strand of hair from her damp forehead. “I’m here. I’ve got you.”

She tried to respond, but her voice came out in a whisper. “Neo… drugged…”

“I know. I know. You’re safe now.”

He’s never felt the need to protect any woman but sees himself doing it for this one.

Behind him, Ryker’s Beta, Chase, and two guards stormed in, hauling the unconscious Neo up by the arms.

“Take him to the holding cells beneath the Night Villa,” Ryker commanded. “I want him awake and screaming by, morning.”

Jenna barely registered the men dragging Neo away. The warmth of Ryker’s embrace was the only thing grounding her.

“Stay with me,” he muttered, lifting her into his arms. “You’re going to be okay.”

She slipped into unconsciousness just as he carried her out of the ruined suite.

The next morning, Jenna woke in her bed at the Night Villa. Mrs. Anderson sat at the edge of the bed, gently pressing a cool cloth to her forehead.

“Alpha Ryker hasn’t left your side since he brought you back,” she said softly as soon as she noticed her eyes were

open.

Jenna’s throat was dry. “Where is he now?”

“In the holding chambers,” she replied, her voice darkening. “With the one who tried to violate you.”

She touched her stomach as if old lady knew what she was going to say next.

“Your babies are doing just fine,” Mrs Anderson assured her, staring at her with pitiful eyes.

Jenna nodded, her heart still racing from the memory. “And Coty?”

The old lady’s mouth twisted. “Still at the hotel. Acting like nothing happened.”

Not for long, Jenna thought bitterly.

Later that evening, Coty stood in the private lounge of the luxury hotel, sipping from a crystal glass of champagne, flanked by her two friends Mia and Laura who hung onto her every word.

They cheered to her victory -until her phone buzzed sharply in her clutch.

She stepped away, irritation flashing in her eyes.

“Speak,” she snapped into the phone.

“It’s done,” said a raspy voice on the other end. “Neo’s locked up. And Alpha Ryker knows.”

Coty stiffened.

“What do you mean, he knows? Neo was supposed to handle her and disappear before anyone noticed!”

“Well, something went wrong. Neo never made it out. The Alpha King himself broke down the damn door.”

Coty’s stomach sank. Her grip tightened around the glass until it cracked.

“You idiot,” she whispered. “Do you know what this means?”

But the voice kept talking. “And that’s not all. The press is starting to pick up chatter. There were cameras near the hallway. Ryker is already moving to spin it.”

Her skin went cold. “Shut it all down. Erase everything.”

There was silence on the other end.
