Rejected By The Beta, Claimed By His Alpha Uncle novel Chapter 24

“What did you say?”

“I mean it. They’re locked. All of them. And the legal team says you signed over some assets in that shady partnership you did with Neo last month. It’s being reversed.”

Coty dropped her glass. The champagne spilled.

“I want it back,” she said, her voice deadly quiet. “Everything. That money is mine.”

“Not anymore,” the voice said flatly. “And if Ryker gets proof of what you did last night—”

He didn’t finish.

Coty ended the call with a trembling hand.

Across the room, a screen mounted on the wall lit up with breaking news:

“ALPHA RYKER SEIZES SECURITY HOLDINGS IN SHAKE-UP: Internal sabotage uncovered following assault attempt at gala dinner.”

“Is everything alright?” Her friends asked but she was furious.

“Leave! all of you out!” She shouted, chasing them away.

She was about to call her mother when another message popped up.

Spears Legal Team: URGENT – Review your contract regarding company/holdings. There has been a formal asset freeze request filed by Alpha Ryker.

Her brow furrowed. “What?”

She barely had time to read it again before the phone rang again.

“Hello?”

“Miss Coty Spears?” a clipped voice said. “This is Jonathan Marsh, head of corporate finance at Spears Corp. I’m calling to inform you that, per emergency shareholder motion, your discretionary company card and travel budget have been suspended pending investigation.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“There’s also a legal action on your personal apartment and luxury vehicle lease. If you attempt to relocate or liquidate anything under the Spears name, we will pursue criminal charges.”

“You can’t do this! This is my family’s company!”

“Not anymore,” the voice said coldly. “Not with the evidence we’ve received.”

The call ended.

Jenna tapped her spoon against the pot, steam curling up as the scent of rosemary and garlic filled the kitchen.

Mrs. Anderson peers over her shoulder, her brow raised. “Since when do you cook?”

Jenna grinned, stirring the sauce carefully. “Since I wanted to say thank you.”

“hmmm….” the old lady said, clearly unconvinced. “Thank him with words. You don’t have to do this.”

“He saved my life, Mrs. Anderson. Twice. He stayed with me when I was unconscious.” Jenna defended. “He’s not that cruel after all.”

Her fingers tighten on the spoon, remembering the way Ryker’s arms had held her, how his voice had softened as he whispered her name. How safe she’d felt-even after everything.

No, this isn’t just a thank-you. She was hopeful. “Maybe he really does love me.” Jenna thought to herself.

“Do you think he’ll like it?” She asked, turning to the old lady.

“I think this is a bad idea,” Mrs Anderson sneered.

By late morning, the dish is packed in a sleek lunch box.

Mrs. Anderson shakes her head as Jenna throws on a fitted navy sweater and soft black jeans. “You look nice,” she complimented.

“Too nice for a man who barely speaks to you.” The old lady muttered.

She hugged the old lady. “Wish me luck.”

Thirty minutes later, she was walking down the quiet halls of Alpha Ryker’s company.

She nodded at the guards-who instantly parted for her-and she took the private elevator to the top floor.

Jenna’s heart was pounding. He didn’t answer her texts this morning, maybe because he was just busy. Right? she asked no one in particular.

Jenna stared down at the lunchbox she’d packed with way too much care. The roasted chicken, the garlic-buttered potatoes, the tiny apple tarts arranged like a flower-all of it handmade from scratch that morning.

She hadn’t slept much. The memory of Ryker’s arms carrying her, the way his voice softened when he held her, wouldn’t leave her alone. It haunted her-in a good way.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, she muttered to herself, tightening the ribbon around the box. But her wolf, Lexa, wagged its tail. She’d felt Ryker’s rage when he found her in Neo’s trap. The way he destroyed everything in his path to get to her… it meant something.

The elevator dings.

She stepped out onto the marble floor, her nerves juggling between excitement and dread.

“Alpha Ryker is in his office, ma’am,” the assistant said politely, stepping aside.

Jenna nodded, gripping the handle of the box tightly, her heart fluttering with nerves.

She’d thought of this moment a dozen times on the drive over.

He’d look up from his desk, surprised, touched. Maybe even smile. She’d hand him lunch. He’d eat it. Maybe they’d talk, alone. Maybe just maybe he’d touch her again, brush her cheek. Call her his mate like he did the other.

She found herself falling for him.

Her wolf nudged her forward with a low whine. She knocked softly on the double doors, there was no answer but she could hear voices inside, laughing. “A woman’s voice.”

Her brows pull together.

She took a breath, turned the doorknob, she stepped in but was left in shock.

Jenna froze as she saw a woman on Ryker’s desk, legs crossed, leaning in close-very close-her hand on his chest. “She couldn’t move, neither did they.”

The woman was stunning and elegant. Glossy black hair, Designer heels, A sleek red dress, Long legs draped over the edge of his desk, Lipstick smudged.

She was laughing at something Ryker just said.

Ryker braced his hand against the edge of the desk, inches from her thigh. His lips curved.

Jenna stared as she drifted her hand higher.

She clears her throat softly, unable to bear the pain any longer.

The woman noticed first. She turned her head slowly, like a cat noticing a stray bird at the window. Her smile didn’t fade-it sharpened. Her eyes raked over Jenna instantly-dismissive, curious. She tilts her head.

“Oh,” she purred. “Oh. You must be… the girl?”

Jenna blinked. “I-what?”

Ryker turned then, his expression unreadable, cold, Not surprised, Not warm, Not pleased. Just… blank.

“Jenna,” he said flatly. “Why are you here!?”

Something in her broke right then.

“I-” Her voice caught in her throat. She held up the box with a trembling hand. “I made you lunch. I thought… after everything… I just wanted to say thank you.”

There was a long pause.

The woman’s eyes flicked from the lunch box to Jenna’s face, amused. “How sweet,” she said, hopping off the desk like she owned the room. “She bakes, too.”

Ryker didn’t say a word.

Jenna’s voice wavered. “Who is she?”

She walked toward Jenna, extending her well-manicured hand. “I’m Nina, Ryker’s chosen mate and fiancée.”

Jenna felt her heart fall into her stomach.

“Fiancée?”

She smirks. “You didn’t know?” She glances at Ryker as if to say, Really? You didn’t tell her?

Nina answered before Ryker could. “I’m his fiancée. I suppose you didn’t know. I’ve been in the States finalizing things and now I’m back to be his Luna as he promised, didn’t you, darling?”

She leaned into him, bold and possessive.

Jenna stepped back like she’d been struck. The warmth she felt that morning disappeared.

Ryker’s jaw tensed-but still, he said nothing.

His silence cut her even deeper.

“Of course, you didn’t know,” Nina continued with a sugary smirk. “Poor thing. Did you think he was saving you? That you were special?”

Jenna lowered the lunch box. Her fingers were numb as she held back the tears that threatened to fall down her
