122 Chapter 122
122.Chapter 122
Suddenly, Easton was hit by another wave of intense pain in his head. He let go of Sophia, and both of them were left gasping for air.
Just as Sophia was about to push him away, she realized he had slumped against her shoulder, whispering,” My head hurts so badly. Please, don’t push me away.”
Sophia froze, feeling the warmth of Easton’s breath on her skin. She said, “Easton, get off me. You’re so heavy” Easton wrapped his arms around her waist. “Just a moment. Please.”
Sophia had never seen Easton like this before. The way he spoke, it was as if he were begging her for comfort.
Easton’s body was getting hotter by the minute, and Sophia’s anxiety spiked. She reached up to check his neck, and sure enough, he was running a fever.
Sophia’s voice trembled with worry. “Easton, are you not feeling well? I’ll call Gordon over and have him take you to the hospital right now.”
At the mention of the hospital, Easton slowly opened his eyes and let go of Sophia. Leaning against the wall, he pressed a hand to his forehead. “I’m fine. You should go.”
Sophia looked at him in confusion. Now that he had let go, she felt a bit of relief. “Okay. Since you don’t need my help, I’ll just go.”
Just as she was about to walk away, a low, raspy voice came from behind her. “Is Frank pursuing you?”
Sophia froze in place. Without turning back, she said calmly, “Easton, we’re not close enough for me to share personal matters with you, are we?”
As Sophia walked away, Easton’s gaze darkened, unreadable. He slumped against the wall, fished out a cigarette from his pack, lit it up, and just let it hang from his lips.
When Sophia reached the first floor, she ran into Gordon.
“Hi, Ms. Roth,” Gordon greeted.
Sophia nodded and said, “Gordon, I just saw Easton, but he’s not looking well. He seems to have a fever. You should really take him to the hospital.”
Gordon’s face darkened instantly. “Where is Mr. Foster right now?” he asked, sounding alarmed.
Sophia told him Easton was upstairs on the second floor.
He said thanks, then ran upstairs quickly, accidentally bumping into a waiter.
Sophia couldn’t help wondering, ‘It’s just a fever. Why is Gordon so serious? Easton is a grown man. He’ll say it when he needs help’
When Gordon rushed upstairs to the second floor, he saw Easton sitting on the ground, clutching his head.
Gordon hurried over, concern etched on his face. “Mr. Foster, is your headache acting up again?”
Easton’s eyes were bloodshot. He lifted his head, glanced at Gordon, and gave a slight nod.
Gordon quickly helped Easton to his feet and guided him back to the private room. Then he took out two ice packs from the fridge.
He said, “Mr. Foster, I’ll get a hotel room ready for you right now. Just a moment.”
Easton held him back. “No need. I want to stay here a bit. You can go.”
“You’ll be uncomfortable if you stay like this,” Gordon protested, clearly worried.
Easton pressed his hand to his forehead and waved Gordon away.
Gordon had no choice but to leave him alone.
Not long after he closed the door, however, he heard objects being knocked over inside. He was worried, but Easton wouldn’t let him in.

After a moment of hesitation, Gordon pulled out his phone and called Stella.
Sophia was chatting with Frank and a few other company execs on the first floor. She had just taken a sip of her juice when she suddenly saw Stella hurrying by in the distance, looking panicked.
Seeing Stella dart upstairs like that made Sophia uneasy. She wondered if Easton’s condition was really that serious. She thought, ‘If he is feeling that unwell, why not go straight to the hospital?’
