Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 124

124 Chapter 124

124.Chapter 124

Back at home, Sophia angrily tossed her bag onto the bed. She murmured, “Easton, you’re a jerk. You always try to take advantage of me.”

She rushed into the bathroom and brushed her teeth three times, scrubbing so hard that her gums almost started to bleed.

Staring at herself in the mirror, she muttered, “You fool. You almost fell for it. All that talk of pain and headaches was all a lie, yet you worried about him all night.”

After her shower, Sophia lay in bed, frustrated by everything that had happened tonight, unable to stop overthinking.

She just couldn’t fall asleep, so she called May, chatting with her for a while.

May fumed. “Damn it, he kissed you and then threw himself at Stella. This is way too ridiculous.”

She let out a long sigh, tried to calm herself, and went on. “Honestly, I totally get how you feel. “Easton did save you more than once, and, well, women are soft-hearted, so don’t blame yourself for it. Honestly, things between you two have gotten complicated after all this.”

May was right. All these events had created a lot of complications between them. They tried to keep a distance, but he was always there for her when it mattered.

What was more, those misleading moments kept appearing again and again.

Sophia quickly snapped herself out of it. She decided that from now on, she had to keep her guard up and not fall into the traps they had set, or she would regret it one day.

May advised, “Don’t overthink it. Ever since the day you divorced Easton, you made him a stranger in your life. Just keep it that way. If work forces you two together, just handle it professionally.”

May, being an outsider, always saw things objectively. She knew Sophia was usually a boss at work, but once Easton got involved, she would completely lose her cool.

“Here’s my advice. Go find yourself a new boyfriend, and then you won’t fall for Easton’s crap so easily anymore. Seriously, find someone younger and more handsome than him,” May said, half-joking.

Sophia was speechless. “Thanks for the tips, but I think I’ll just enjoy being single,” she replied with a wry smile.

May went on. “Sophia, you know what? The photos of you and Mr. Hayes at the Twilight Charity Gala are all over the groups. The ladies are all jealous.”

Sophia knew that showing up at the gala with Frank would definitely stir up some gossip, but she was used to

Sophia said, “Well, I can almost picture it in my mind.”

May chuckled. “Yeah, you’ve heard way worse back when you were Easton’s wife, haven’t you?”

“Anyway, enough gossip. When are you coming back from your work trip? I’ll pick you up at the airport,” Sophia said.

May replied, “It’s tomorrow afternoon, and I’ll be back early morning the day after.”

Sophia nodded. “Okay.”

After hanging up, Sophia lay on her bed, her mind blank, when suddenly someone knocked on her door.

“Sophia, are you still up?” It was Julian outside.

Sophia got up and opened the door. “Julian? It’s late.”

She noticed Julian was still wearing his suit from the gala, so she knew he must have just dropped Annie off at her hotel and hadn’t even had time to change.

“Yeah, are you free the day after tomorrow?” Julian asked.
