Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 133

133.Chapter 133

The wedding party was about to get started, and Sophia and May were running around, schmoozing with guests left and right. Easton and Ryan weren’t getting to relax either.

With so many big-name tycoons and elites from Jenston in attendance, there was no escaping the endless. rounds of drinks and small talk-events like this pretty much demanded it.

Julian walked over and said, “Sophia, just take it easy with the drinks tonight, okay?”

“Don’t worry about me-go take care of Annie. She’s totally wiped out today,” Sophia replied.

“Alright, Julian said. He then took his glass and returned to Annie, gently wrapping his arm around her waist.

Seeing the pure, almost dazzling happiness spill out of Annie’s smile, Sophia felt the same buoyant joy rush. into her own chest. Without noticing, she kept refilling her glass, swept along by the tide of celebration.

May was busy socializing the whole time, and she ended up drinking quite a bit herself.

Once Sophia was done mingling, she headed over to the side hall to check on May, only to find her slumped over the balcony rail, totally wasted.

“May, you really went all-out schmoozing for Brightway’s business tonight,” Sophia teased.

May placed her head on Sophia’s shoulder and said, “What can I say? If I can’t snag a decent man, I have to depend on myself.”

Sophia said, “Please, May, with or without a man, you’re still the whole package-rich, gorgeous, and your dad’ s precious princess.”

May lifted her head, cupped Sophia’s cheeks, beaming. She said, “Exactly. Nobody spoils me like my dad does.”

Sophia chuckled and helped May into a chair on the balcony. She said, “Just stay here and relax. I’ll have someone bring you some hangover meds. There’s another party tonight, you know.”

May waved her off and said, “Got it, don’t worry. Go take care of your stuff.”

Soon enough, the hotel staff came by with some hangover meds.

After taking them, May felt the dizziness fade a bit, though she was still pretty sleepy. She decided to remain out on the little balcony by herself for now.

When Sophia stepped out and checked the time, it was already four in the afternoon. She called Mia and said, Has Lucas woken up yet? Okay, I’ll arrange for the car. Please take him to his class.”

On the other end of the phone, Lucas was being all sweet, saying how much he wanted to see Sophia. Sophia soothed him with endless patience. She said gently, “I miss you, too.”

Just as Sophia hung up, she turned and saw Easton and Ryan coming her way. She nodded at Ryan in greeting, then headed straight for the main hall. She didn’t catch the way Easton’s face clouded over instantly.

Easton fumed inwardly, ‘What guy was she sweet-talking on the phone, anyway? And why did she sound so soft? Did she seriously just tell him she missed him?’

Ryan glanced at him and said, “Was she just on the phone with Frank?”

Just the mention of Frank made Easton’s mood tank even further; he looked about ready to snap. He said coldly, “Tell the trading company to put even more pressure on them.” With that, he walked away.

Ryan glanced toward the side hall and spotted May. He couldn’t help but smirk. After finishing up his call, he made his way over to join her out on the balcony.

Easton stormed into the garden, a cigarette in hand, trying to calm the anger simmering inside him. When he looked up, he saw Lucas walking toward him.

Something about the boy jogged his memory, and then it clicked: this was the same kid he’d run into at Foster Group Mall the day of the accident.

Lucas walked right past Easton, giving him a brief look, but didn’t bother to greet him.
