142 Chapter 142
142.Chapter 142
Once Sophia wrapped up her speech, the other companies started presenting one after another.
Each of the shortlisted companies had its own strengths, and their plans were just as impressive as Crestview Group’s. The conference room buzzed with the nonstop sound of project presentations.
Finally, it was Foster Group’s turn. Easton stepped onto the stage in a bespoke black suit, exuding an air of effortless elegance and authority.
His tall, commanding figure stood at the front, and the cold intensity in his eyes radiated an invisible pressure. The entire conference room seemed to freeze in that moment.
The presentation slides and design plans appeared on the screen, and Easton’s deep, steady voice carried a calm confidence.
Sophia couldn’t take her eyes off the screen, hanging on every word as he analyzed and explained the project.
Foster Group was never short on cash or resources, and every part of their proposal and design was crafted with expert precision. Honestly, their plan outshone every other company here, including Crestview Group.
There’s no contest, Sophia thought to herself. ‘Foster Group totally crushed it this round’
Emily was fidgeting in her seat, unable to stay still. “Sophia?”
Sophia had to admit, Easton was a genius when it came to business. Even the simplest details in his design seemed to effortlessly win people over.
Twenty minutes later, Easton finished his presentation. As he stepped off the stage, his gaze swept over to Sophia sitting in the back row. In his eyes was an emotion she couldn’t quite decipher.
Gordon clapped his hands in excitement. When Easton sat back down, he grinned, “Mr. Foster, the Southern Development Zone project is basically ours this time.”
Easton’s lips curled into a faint smile, like he’d seen this outcome coming all along.
By 3 PM, the bidding session was over.
The head of the Southern Development Zone specifically asked the Crestview Group team to stay after the meeting.
Sophia was a bit surprised, but she brought Emily along to the project lead’s office. “Hello, Gavin,” she said.
“Hello, Ms. Roth. Please, have a seat,” he said.
Gavin politely asked his assistant to bring them two cups of coffee.
He got straight to the point. “Ms. Roth, we were genuinely satisfied with Crestview Group’s proposal. If it weren’ t for Foster Group’s perfect plan, Crestview Group would have easily taken the win.”
Sophia gave a faint smile. “Gavin, that’s very generous of you. Honestly, compared to Foster Group, our ideas and planning just can’t compete. We accept the result wholeheartedly this time.”
Gavin was clearly impressed by Sophia.
“Take a look at this agreement. If anything’s unclear, I’ll walk you through it after you’ve read it,” he said. Sophia accepted the agreement, a hint of doubt flickering in her eyes as she looked it over carefully.
Her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked up at Gavin. “Is this your idea, or?”
Gavin nodded. “It’s Mr. Foster’s idea.”
Sophia’s surprise was written all over her face. “Why?”
Gavin laid out all of Easton’s intentions for Sophia, hoping she’d really think it over when she got home. Sophia slid into the car, absent-mindedly holding the agreement Gavin had handed her, completely lost in thought.
Emily didn’t disturb her at all, just quietly kept Sophia company the whole way back to Crestview Group,

sensing that she needed space to process everything.
Julian had heard an hour ago that Crestview Group didn’t win the bid. Worried Sophia might be feeling down, he waited for her to get back to the office before coming over to check in.
“Sophia, you did great today. It’s okay that we didn’t win this one. We’ve still got plenty of other projects in the pipeline. Once we meet and go through them, you’ll see.
“The prospects are just as promising as the Southern Development Zone,” Julian said, trying to lift her spirits.
Sophia shook her head, a hint of confidence in her eyes. “Julian, we didn’t actually lose this time.”
Julian blinked in surprise. “Wait, what do you mean?”
Sophia passed him the agreement Gavin had given her, letting him see for himself.
Julian took the agreement from Sophia and read it carefully, his eyes widening in disbelief. “So that’s Easton’s idea?
