Staring at the trending topics on his tablet, he wanted to slap himself silly. ‘After all these years working for Mr. Foster, how do I still not get what he’s thinking?’ he berated himself.

‘I really dropped the ball. Never letting this kind of screw-up happen again, he promised himself.

Gordon wasted no time getting the trending topics wiped, and even had his team erase every trace of those old stories about Easton and Stella from the internet.

Now, even the nosiest netizens couldn’t find a shred of gossip about Easton and Stella, no matter how hard they tried.

Stella sat in her office, watching the trending topics disappear. In no time, they were all gone.

She called her assistant in. “Go check who wiped the trending topics off the internet.”

Just then, Minnie called. “Stella, I saw the trending topics today. You and Mr. Foster really look like a perfect match. You’re totally giving off Mrs. Foster vibes now.”

Stella’s heart was practically singing, and she couldn’t help but wear a self-satisfied grin.

“Hey, do you think that mystery buyer who snagged the ruby bracelet could be Mr. Foster? Maybe he’s planning to give it to you.

“After all, you’ve stuck by his side for years. Even if you haven’t scored any major wins, you’ve definitely put in the effort,” Minnie teased.

“I’m not sure either. Any news on your end about the bracelet?” Stella asked, her curiosity burning. She was dying to know if Easton was the one who bought it.

“I asked around with my friends, but they’re all clueless,” Minnie replied.

After chatting for a bit, Stella hung up.

Just then, her assistant knocked and came in. “Stella, I found out. It was Foster Group’s internal PR team that took the trending topics down.”

Stella was stunned for a moment. ‘Wait, Foster Group did that?’ she thought.

The assistant nodded.

Stella waved her off impatiently. “Just go,” she said.

Stella paced restlessly, thinking, ‘Easton used to ignore all this gossip. Even when he left my apartment in the dead of night and the headlines exploded the next morning, he couldn’t care less. So what’s gotten into him now?’

She knew Easton’s feelings for Sophia had shifted, but seriously, was he really this rattled?

‘It’s just a bunch of rumors. Is it worth pulling out the big guns at Foster Group just to wipe the internet?’ she scoffed to herself.

‘Sophia, what’s your secret anyway? You’ve only been back for half a year, and somehow you’ve got Easton totally hooked, Stella grumbled inwardly, her jealousy flaring.

Stella’s heart twisted with regret and envy. ‘If only I’d said yes to Easton’s proposal back then, his wife would be me right now, she thought bitterly.

Back at Grandview Estate, Sophia had just gotten home from work when Annie called. “Sophia, your birthday’s tomorrow, but I have to head back to Harlinton for a show today.

“If I try to rush back to Jenston tomorrow, it’ll be way too late.”

Sophia stepped out of Lucas’s room, phone in hand. “Annie, seriously, it’s fine. I know you’ve been running yourself ragged between Harlinton and Jenston lately.

“Sophia, how are you spending your birthday tomorrow? Don’t tell me you’re just going to eat cake at home with Lucas,” May joked.

Sophia laughed lightly, “May, my birthday’s never a quiet affair. Uncle Edward already had Julian take care of everything.

“Tomorrow night, I’m bringing Lucas to the Roth residence for dinner, and you’re invited, too.”

“Then I’ll bring a few bottles from Forrest’s wine collection to celebrate with you. You’ve got everything else, so consider these my birthday present,” May replied.
