When Sophia arrived at the kindergarten, the kids had already been dismissed. Parents were picking up their children one by one.

She parked her car and walked up to the entrance. The new teacher, Noreen Hopper, saw Sophia and froze. She had never expected anyone to be that beautiful.

“Hello, Miss. Are you here for one of our students?” Noreen asked.

Sophia smiled warmly. “I’m Lucas’s mom.”

Noreen suddenly realized that she was the mother of that handsome little boy in their class. ‘No wonder he looked so good; with a mom this beautiful, it makes sense, she thought.

“Lucas, your mom’s here,” Noreen called out.

Hearing this, Lucas dropped his basketball, grabbed his little backpack, and dashed to the entrance. He called out with his soft, babyish voice, “Mommy.”

His voice was soft, but Stella could still hear it from her car.

She watched as Sophia scooped Lucas up into her arms. Only after Sophia drove away did Stella slowly get out of her car.

David’s foot still wasn’t fully healed, but he kept whining about wanting to go to kindergarten. Stella didn’t have the energy to keep him at home, so she just let him go to school.

She didn’t usually pick David up, but today she happened to be taking him back to the Weston residence for dinner. George doted on him and had reminded her several times to bring him over. Today she finally had the

time.

Little did she know she would end up seeing this when she came to pick up David today.

Sophia has a kid?’ Stella was stunned, her head spinning.

Lucas looked about the same age as David. ‘Could it be…?’ Stella thought to herself.

No way. Easton left Jenston for Menolia right after the wedding. When he came back, they split up pretty fast. If Sophia had been pregnant with his kid, there’s no way she would have divorced him, Stella reasoned.

No way,’ she repeated to herself.

But she was sure she had heard Lucas call Sophia “Mommy.” What is going on?’ Stella thought.

David had been waiting at the entrance for Stella. When he saw her, he beamed and told Noreen, “Ms. Hopper, my mom’s here.”

Noreen glanced at Stella. ‘She bears a slight resemblance to Lucas’s mother, but when it comes to presence, Lucas’s mother is clearly superior, she thought.

Noreen thought Stella looked familiar. After a moment, she realized that Stella was the TV news anchor. She greeted Stella with a smile, “Ms. Weston, hello. I didn’t realize you were David’s mother.”

Stella always put on her best gentle and graceful act in public. Seeing Noreen know her, she smiled warmly and nodded. “Hello, Ms. Hopper.”

She picked David up and struck up a conversation with Noreen. “Did David cause you any trouble lately?”

Seeing Stella start a conversation, Noreen was delighted. She gently patted David’s head. “No, David has been a real sweetheart.”

“Who was the mom who just left with her child? I don’t think I’ve seen her before. Whose mom is she?” Stella asked.

Noreen smiled. “That’s Lucas’s mom. I just met her for the first time today. Usually, Mia, their nanny, comes to pick him up.”

Stella nodded, said goodbye to Noreen, and then took David to the car.

She buckled David into his seatbelt. “David, is Lucas in your class?”

David was sipping his milk. “Yeah.”

Stella continued, “Have you ever seen Lucas’s dad come to pick him up?”

David shook his head. “Nope.”

Stella went quiet for a moment.
