By the time Sophia got off the plane, it was almost midnight. She had already booked a ride on her phone, so when she wheeled her suitcase out of the airport, the car was already waiting.

Once she got into the car, she texted May and Julian to let them know she had returned to Jenston and that they didn’t need to worry.

May always slept late, so she replied right away.

Sophia chatted with her the whole ride. They only stopped when the car pulled up to Grandview Estate.

She pushed her suitcase into the elevator, looking totally wiped out. All Sophia wanted right now was to get home, take a shower, and crash.

She still had to deal with Easton tomorrow.

Just as she was thinking about it, the elevator doors slid open.

As she stepped out, she saw Easton standing right in front of her door and froze on the spot.

But as she looked closer, Sophia saw that Easton was a mess, and the whole hallway reeked of alcohol.

Is he drunk? Is he here to cause some drunken drama?’ she thought to herself.

She walked slowly up to her door, and just then, Easton lifted his head and spotted her.

Easton’s gaze was hazy as he stared at Sophia. ‘Am I so drunk that I’m hallucinating her right now?’ he thought.

Without hesitation, he reached out and pulled Sophia into his arms, holding her tight. “Sophia, when are you coming back? Why haven’t you come back yet? Are you mad at me?”

Sophia was completely thrown off by his sudden move. She tried to push him away, but even drunk, Easton was as strong as ever. There was no way she could break free.

“Easton, get away from me. Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you’re drunk. Let go of me,” she snapped at him.

Easton heard Sophia’s voice, and the way she kept struggling in his arms felt so real.

He looked down at her, his voice deep and a little slurred. “Is it really you? Are you back?”

Sophia bit her lip and glared at him. “Not at all. What you’re seeing is a ghost.”

Easton couldn’t help but laugh, tightening his hold around her. “Well, I’ve never met a ghost this beautiful before.”

Sophia was at a loss for words.

‘Is he for real? Why does it sound like he’s actually flirting with me?’ she thought.

“Let me go! If you don’t, I’m calling the police,” she snapped.

“Go ahead. Trust me, nobody in Jenston would dare lay a finger on me,” Easton said, burying his face in her

neck.

Sophia was speechless again.

She really didn’t want to deal with a drunk any longer, and she was dead tired. She pulled out her phone, about to call Gordon for help.

But before she could do anything, Easton just grabbed it from her.

“Easton, what are you doing? Give me my phone back,” Sophia demanded.

Easton smiled, slipped her phone into his pocket, and kept her in his arms.

Sophia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “Easton, are you faking it?”

Hearing this, he didn’t react. She shoved him hard, and he ended up slumping to the floor, leaning against the wall with his eyes shut.

some water.

But when she stepped back out, Easton was gone. The door to the estate next door was left ajar. Sophia’s heart skipped a beat.
