Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 223

223 Chapter 223

223.Chapter 223

Sophia squinted at him, her eyes half-closed. “You? Aren’t you just the cute puppy I ordered earlier?”

Easton just stared at her, lost for words.

Easton rubbed his temples, thinking, ‘No use arguing with a drunk right now.’

“Sophia, seriously, it’s me, Easton,” he said, sounding a little exasperated.

When Sophia heard the name “Easton,” she paused, stunned for a moment, and then her emotions completely changed. Her whole vibe shifted in a heartbeat.

She lowered her gaze, a quiet sorrow flickering in her eyes.

“Easton would never hold me this gently,” she murmured, her voice soft and tinged with longing.

“He’s never cared about me. He’s never liked me,” she added, the hurt clear in her tone.

“Five years ago, on our wedding day, I really thought I was the luckiest bride alive. I finally got to marry the man I’d been secretly in love with since I was young.

“I felt like I’d won the lottery,” Sophia murmured, her heart aching with bittersweet memories.

“But after that, all that happiness disappeared. I realized he didn’t care about me at all. He couldn’t even stand to be around me,” she continued, her voice trembling with pain.

She continued, “You know, that first year after we got married, all those Jenston socialites mocked me behind my back. They called me Jenston’s most pitiful abandoned wife, said I was scheming and shameless, that I used dirty tricks just to marry Easton…

“They even accused me of stealing Stella’s man, like I was some homewrecker…

“But the truth is, back then, it was him who…” Sophia’s voice faltered, bitterness creeping in as she struggled to finish her sentence.

As Sophia kept talking, she just broke down and started sobbing, unable to hold back her tears any longer.

Except for the year her parents passed away, she’d never felt so wronged in her whole life. It was like she was finally letting out all the bitterness she’d been bottling up inside, pouring her heart out as she cried.

It was the first time Easton had ever heard Sophia pour her heart out like this, and it felt like a heavy stone was crushing his chest. His heart ached for her. It just killed him inside to see her hurting so much

Suddenly, Sophia looked up, her whole vibe shifting from heartbreak to icy calm “Seriously, handsome men are just disasters waiting to happen. I only fell for that dangerously charming face of his, and look where it got me, ruined for life.”

Easton was still reeling from guilt and heartbreak over what Sophia had just said, but her sudden mood swing threw him off so much that he didn’t even know how to react.

Unable to hold back anymore, Easton dipped his head and captured her lips in a kiss, deep, lingering, and full of longing, as if he could erase all her pain with just this moment.

When he finally let her go, his voice was husky as he murmured right in her ear, “If you love this face so much, then except for the days I’m away for work, I’ll make sure you get to see it every single day.”

By now, Sophia had drifted off into a deep sleep.

Easton gently lay her down on the bed, leaving a gentle kiss on her lips. “This time, I’ll be shameless and use every trick I’ve got, just to win you over.”

The next morning.

Warm sunlight poured through the windows, filling Easton’s bedroom with a soft golden glow.

Sophia’s thick, fluttering lashes trembled as she forced her eyes open, her head feeling like it was about to split in two.

‘Why does this place feel unfamiliar, yet somehow familiar at the same time?’ Sophia wondered, a little confused.

She tried to sit up, but then realized there was a strong arm wrapped tightly around her waist, holding her in place so she couldn’t move an inch.

She turned her head, and when she saw who it was, she just froze, completely stunned.

Easton had woken up a few minutes before her. When he saw Sophia staring at him, his usual gentle expression melted into a real smile, his eyes turning even softer.

Sophia just stared at him, completely at a loss for words.

‘Did I really get so wasted last night that I somehow remembered Easton’s door code and snuck into his place?’ she wondered, totally freaking out.

She had no idea where the sudden burst of energy came from, but Sophia pushed Easton off her and scrambled out of bed

in a panic.

“Wait… Why am I even here?” Sophia blurted out, her mind spinning in confusion.
